Chapter 45 - The Sacred Sage

As this was the only theory that he had, he went and climbed the stairs as he eventually reached the very top of the tower.

Just infront of him, two large doors stood there.

He can feel the beastmen's auras just behind the door, he wasted no time and kicked the door open.

His theory was proven right as he saw the four of them already engaging in combat with what seems to be their new enemies.

Lian saw max fighting keres, he saw keres has the upper hand against the beastmen.

Lian: Don't you dare!

He equipped his gun and shot keres countless of times.

Keres wasn't able to react fast making one bullet penetrate his hand which was holding a sword that is going to be used to max.

Keres: Ah! Damn you!

His attention went to lian, with his hand now bleeding he stopped on with his battle with max and left him.

Max turned his head as lian approached him.

Max: Lian?

Lian: Max are you alright? Keres almost killed you I can't let that happen!

Max: I'm fine...

"Ah.... The witch's one and only son"

Lian and max turned their heads towards the core pedestal, a man in a cloak was currently standing next to it.

Lian: Who are you?

"Introduction is not needed, what needs to be done here is to get rid of you"

Lian: Sorry I don't think so.

"I thought you might say that, it's time to suppress that power in which you currently possess"

Lian: Huh?

Lian was confused on what the man said.

"Keres"

With the man said keres' name, he appeared next to max and tried to kill him with his sword.

Max dodged it easily but he was now occupied with the man he hated the most leaving lian unguarded and distracted.

Lian: Max!

He was about to help the pinned beastman from keros when the man in a cloak aimed his hand at him.

He shot a ball made of pure light energy and hit lian with it causing him to fall a few inches back.

Lian: AHHHHHHHHH!

Screamed lian, he felt his insides being burned as his skin began to crack like he was some sort of a porcelain doll.

Max saw the agony in lian's face making him extremely worried and angry at the same time.

Max: LIAAAAN!

Max punched keres right at his face so hard it knocked the man unconscious.

The other three beastmen's attention went towards lian who's badly hurt.

Blizzard: Lian!!

The four of them rushed immediately to lian as they tried to check if they can do anything to help him.

The ball of energy that striked him made him go fully unconscious, the cracks in his body started to expand even more.

Max: Oh no! oh no! oh no! This can't happen again!

Max began to tear up.

Blizzard's eyes began to glow a blue light.

Blizzard: You fuckin' bastards!

He said with such full anger and slammed his hand on the ground creating huge spikes of ice.

Max: W-we have to get him out of here!

Zeus: The core!

Max: Forget about it! Lian's life is being taken away from him again!

Shadow agreed with max.

The beastman took the emblem from lian's chest as they begged it to send them out of the realm.

At Max's orders at the emblem, they were teleported out immediately.

The pillar of spiky ice blizzard formed started to melt completely.

The man smirked.

"Now, to get rid of this crystal right here"

He took the core crystal of the realm that was resting in it's pedestal, it was trying to do it's best in keeping the whole realm from tearing apart.

Unfortunately for the man, it was now in it's last seconds in it's existence.

He shattered the crystal with his bare hands as the whole realm started to collapse.

"Sorry 'Guardians of Etherealia...' You failed"
