Chapter 61 - Stopping the Inevitable

Blizzard: Hero agencies and all that stuff here sucks!

Lian closed his eyes as he felt his hand pulse with a lavender light.

Zeus' eyes turned to him.

Zeus: Lian?

Lian: Shh... I'm concentrating.

"Be calm lian... Let your latent ability manifest its capabilities into you..."

Lian: Huh?

He heard a whisper of words on his left ear.

Max: Lian what's wrong?

Lian: I could've swore I heard someone talk near to my ear.

Zeus punched blizzard on his arm.

Blizzard: Ow! IT WASNT ME!

Zeus: Damn right you aren't!

Zeus insisted that blizzard was lying.

Lian: No no, he's right, I know blizzard's voice... It's someone... Mystical.

Max: Do you know them?

Lian: Not really... But... My latent powers... My other powers I mean, when my entire body was exposed into the crystal and I woke up, I felt a new and different surge of power, powers I'm not familiar of.

Shadow: Well do you think you could use it now? New powers are meant to be trained.

Lian: Of course I know that but training can wait, I can figure out this myself, don't worry.

Shadow only nodded.

As their conversation got even more interested with this new power lian unlocked, it only took a matter of seconds before a huge chunk of part from one of the city buildings cracked and flew right to the crystal barrier.

When it finally made contact with the crystal barrier, the five saw the entire chunk, smashed into bits, not even leaving a small dust afterwards.

Blizzard: Woah...

Max: How are we going to get past that...

Lian: Wait! Just wait... I'll try to use my power...

Closing his eyes once more and clearing his mind.

As lian was busy with his experimentation, max decided to leave him be for now.

Blizzard saw him leave first.

Blizzard: Hey wait! Where are you going?!

Max: I'm going to investigate! Just wait and guard lian...

Zeus: But what about you?

Max: I'll be fine.

Zeus and Blizzard exchanged gazes.

Blizzard: Yeah... No, we're coming with you.

Zeus: He's right.

Both beastmen ran off behind max.

Max: What? Didn't I just tell the two of you a couple of seconds ago to guard lian?

Shadow: And what? Risk you life away?

Max: What?

Shadow: Don't be so reckless max, we are not just going to watch you simply investigate, we're here to help you.

Max: But I told the three of you to protect lian while I'm gone.

Blizzard: But what if something happens to you?
