Chapter 61 - Stopping the Inevitable

Max: There is nothing that's going to happen to me I'll be fine, I will return back to all of you, alive, well, and in one piece.

Zeus: And if you don't?

Max: ...

Max became silent.

Shadow: We feel it in our hearts max, we can sense lian telling us to help you, help each other.

Blizzard: And if we refuse to follow him we could feel him scolding us, telling us that we should've been a team, together forever.

Zeus: He's quite right there.

Max: You guys... But... When did the three of you become so... Passionate about helping me?

Blizzard: Since we've been busy with our mission back in the adahull crystal cave.

Zeus: The ringing and chimes those crystal pillars made me think about lian...

Shadow: I too, had that same thought.

Blizzard: It made us think and feel the pain if the time ever comes where we lose lian.. Forever.

Max: Those crystals made you think of lian? But how?... I don't recall them being able to interfere with our thoughts..

Shadow: The crystals were able to resonate an odd but a powerful frequency of sound, it knows why we came in there, why we need its help, and when it found out that we all did that for a certain person.. It made us remember of him..

Blizzard: It gave us the enough courage to continue on, move forward and never stop until we achieve the one we've been hoping to obtain all along.

Max was too surprised, too touched to even make a sound.

Zeus: Max... No more questions asked or words said, whatever you say, we're following you...

Max: Wow... I don't know what to even say... But, thank you.

Shadow: Now... Let's move on.

Blizzard: Yeah!

Zeus: What's your order max?

Max: ... Mhm... I'm not quite sure where to start but... It's wise if we check things from the surroundings first, let's see if we can gather further information.

"Got it!" The four soon spreaded out fast, checking every buildings, to see anything that might help, of course, they only check areas that are far away from the crystal barrier.

Lian's POV:

"Let the light show you the way lian..."

"Follow the light..."

"Let the shine guide you."

"I... I don't understand! What do you mean light?!"

I close my eyes tightly enough but all I could see was darkness.. Pure and total darkness...

"I can't see anything that shines! Please help me further oh great spirits!"

I begged more, I couldn't just figure this all out over a silly riddle! I need the clues to be more precise, to be more understandable!

"The shining lights, they will only show their gleam to those with calm mind"

"Focus lian! Focus!"

"Let them guide you."

"Ah! Stop! I can't follow! I can't understand!"

The whisper of the spirits got even more violent, I could feel a thousand of them saying that the light will guide me over and over but I don't understand! I can't understand!...

"THE LIGHT!"

"AH!"

Suddenly... All of the voices shouted on both my ears at the same time, it sounded so loud it made me fully lose focus...

"Wait... What was that.."

It looks like some sort of... Gleam?

"I... No... It couldn't be could it?"

I could've swore I saw the shining light... But it all sparked so quickly I couldn't see it very well.

Closing my eyes to connect with the spirits, I saw them again in just a quick flash.

"Ahh!"

What was that?! What's happening?!

Taking in a few deep breaths, I shut my eyes closed once more.

"The light... Find the light"

With my eyes being shut, I could still see darkness... The menacing atmosphere of darkness clouding my vision...

"The light..."

The light sparked again! But this time, I kept a steady hold of my eyes, they were still shut until now.

I could see darkness but the light was slowly and slowly getting out of its shells... It's letting itself show in front of me...

"The light!"

Opening my eyes once more, the light completely disappeared... But now... I think I may have a good guess on what to do now.

Max's POV:

After a while of looking.. I still didn't get even a slight clue of what to do...

Going back to where we all got seperated from, the others were already there.

"Any luck?" I tried asking them but seeing their reactions be so dull... There should be only one answer to this.

"No luck"

"None with my investigation"

"I couldn't find anything, I apologize"

They replied after each other.

"What should we do now?" I heard blizzard next to me whisper...

"I can't answer that I believe... I had never encountered such a tense phenomenon like this before"

Suddenly, I felt a woosh of wind behind me.

"I believe I know what we can do now"

Turning behind me I saw lian... But how?

"Lian?!... H-how did you do that?!"

"Oh nevermind that blizzard, we have more important matter to discuss first"

"Mhm..." I only hummed..

"Now shall we get started?"
