Ryder and Adan waited in the booth. They had gotten a table at a little late-night diner in Sutton. Only two people were working here at this hour and there were no other customers. Every now and then he'd notice the employees glancing in their direction.

"So are we going to talk about this?" Ryder asked, cutting through the tension.

Adan had his phone out and was texting someone rapidly. "Kendric's still trying to find this place. He wants to be here."

That had him feeling a bit frustrated. He was less appreciative of the man giving Kendric time to join them now that he had so many questions lined up. He wanted to get the ball rolling on what has been happening ever since he arrived in Crater Point.

Since Adan was so busy with his phone, he might as well put his own to use. So he shot Axel a message, asking why the rogues had attacked him in the parking lot.

He got no reply.

"You need to update this place's location." Kendric burst through the doors, looking flustered. He plopped down on the opposite side of Ryder with a frown.

The booth was one of those that circled the table. Now, Ryder was in the middle, with two grumpy men on either side, boxing him in.

"Last I checked, it's advantageous for us to be hard to find." Adan shot back, putting his phone away.

The cook popped her head out from the kitchen and stared, bug-eyed, at Kendric, before ducking back down and pulling out her phone.

"Hey!" Adan shouted, making Ryder jump. "Do you mind stepping out until we're done?"

The man at the register went back to talk to the girl. He urged her to take the rest of the night off, and then the guy turned the open sign off and stepped outside.

Ryder wondered how this guy was able to so easily order a diner to close on a whim.

"There's going to be more rumors flying," Kendric muttered.

"There wouldn't if you hadn't insisted on being here."

"I have to be here. I was with him when the attack happened."

"So was I, and I can cover this just fine."

"Enough!" Ryder for once was tired of their fighting. After everything he'd been through, he just wanted to get his answers. "Can one of you please start explaining things?"

The men glared at each other one more time before Kendric folded his arms and gestured for Adan to start.

"So, firstly...Remember how I've been wanting to tell you something? And we were supposed to meet tomorrow to discuss it?"

"Yeah? Is it about the werewolves?"

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner. I just couldn't."

"Couldn't? Wait, did you know too?" He turned to Kendric, who now looked ashamed.

"I did."

"So you both knew there were rogue werewolves attacking people, knew I'd been bitten, and you didn't say anything to me?" Ryder grew annoyed. "Do you know what I've been through? Those rogues have been following me around and trying to convince me to run away with them!"

"Rogues are known to have no loyalties," Kendric replied. "They probably didn't think it'd be too hard for you to make yourself disappear for them."

He thought back to Axel, whose actions contradicted what Kendric claimed. If he had no loyalty, he'd have left that group of rogues ages ago. Something didn't feel right. But his powers detected that Kendric was telling the truth. Did that mean his ability only based the 'truth' on whether or not the person speaking considered something true?
