Y/N didn't know when it started, but lately, Hana had been popping up like an uninvited NPC in her life. Everywhere Y/N went, Hana wasn't far behind-always friendly, always chatty, and always... just there.
At first, it wasn't a big deal. Being friends with Hana wasn't the worst thing in the world, right? But recently, it was starting to feel like being followed by a persistent seagull.
Like that one time Y/N hadn't even planned on watching the volleyball practice. She was just going to head home and maybe catch up on her manga, but nope-Hana swooped in with her puppy eyes, practically begging Y/N to come with her since her other friends were "busy." Busy doing what? Escaping? Y/N had wondered but didn't say out loud.
And then there were the times Hana would interrupt her conversations with Konoha. Like a ninja, she'd appear out of nowhere, inserting herself into the chat, and Y/N just kind of let it happen because... well, Hana was just like that. Annoyingly persistent.

One day during lunch break, Y/N was minding her own business, about to make her usual trek to the cafeteria, when the classroom door suddenly swung open. She was so close to walking right into Konoha that she could count his eyelashes.
Both of them froze.
Y/N's eyes widened. Whoa... why is he so close? Personal space! Personal space!
They stood there, locked in what felt like an eternity of awkward eye contact, before Y/N snapped out of it and stumbled back. "Oh, sorry! I didn't-uh-I didn't see you there!"
Konoha laughed awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck. "No worries, I didn't see you either. That was... close."
Close? It was practically a near-death experience for my sanity! Y/N thought, her face reddening by the second. Why am I blushing? Stop blushing!
Konoha, clearly ignoring how flustered they both were, casually pulled out two bento boxes from his bag. He held one out to her with a grin. "Here. One for me, and one for you."
Y/N blinked, completely caught off guard. "What? You didn't have to-"
"I know how the cafeteria gets, and I know you didn't bring lunch," Konoha said, smirking like he knew her all too well. "Plus, I know you're too lazy to make one yourself."
Y/N gasped dramatically, placing a hand over her heart. "I am not lazy! I just... prioritize my time differently."
Konoha chuckled, shaking his head. "Sure, sure. Now come on, let's eat before the vultures in the cafeteria get the last of the good food."
Just as they were about to head out, Kaori, one of the volleyball team managers, appeared with perfect timing. "Konoha! The team's having a meeting right now. Coach needs everyone there."
Konoha sighed, glancing at Y/N apologetically. "Sorry, Y/N, duty calls. But don't forget to eat the bento, okay? It's all yours."
Y/N waved her hand dismissively, though she was secretly a little bummed. "Yeah, yeah, go be responsible or whatever. I'll enjoy this masterpiece on my own."
With that, Konoha dashed off to the meeting, leaving Y/N standing there, bento in hand. She wandered off to find a quiet spot, eventually settling down under a tree behind the gym. The second she opened the bento, her eyes widened.
"Wow... it's cute."
The rice was shaped into little onigiri with smiley faces, and there was a neatly arranged portion of karaage, tamagoyaki, and veggies. Did he make this himself? It's almost... too cute to eat.
But hunger quickly won out, and Y/N dug in. The food was amazing. Konoha wasn't just good at volleyball-apparently, he was a low-key bento master. She practically inhaled the whole thing in minutes.
As she sat there, patting her stomach, a thought crossed her mind. I owe him one again... this is getting out of hand. I'm practically depending on him for lunch now!
She groaned internally. I can't keep doing this! What am I, a freeloader?
But then another thought followed. Why is he so nice to me anyway? Maybe he's just that kind of person... yeah, that's it. He's just nice. Totally.
As Y/N mulled over her bento dilemma, her phone buzzed. A message from Konoha.
Konoha:
Enjoy the bento? I knew you wouldn't be able to resist. 😏Y/N rolled her eyes and typed back.
Y/N:
It was edible, I guess. 😏Konoha:
Hey! That was a culinary masterpiece! You're lucky to have me.Y/N couldn't help but smile. Yeah, maybe I am... but I really gotta start making my own lunch.
