With Sports Day only a week away, Y/N thought she was finally getting the hang of the 4x400m relay. She had even gotten used to the daily runs with her teammates-kind of. But just when she thought the worst was over, her class decided to throw her into two more activities.

First, she was roped into some ridiculous scavenger hunt race, where she had to find random items based on clues. Y/N had no idea how she ended up in this, but she could already sense disaster. And if that wasn't bad enough, she was also forced to join the cheerleading squad, because apparently, they were short on members.

Y/N groaned loudly in frustration, slamming her head against her desk. "Why me?! I'm not made for this. I'm not even cheerful!"

Konoha, as expected, found the whole situation hilarious. "I mean, I think you'd make a great cheerleader," he said, grinning as he mimicked some cheesy pom-pom routine. "Give me a Y! Give me an N!"

Y/N glared at him. "Keep it up, and you'll be giving me your lunch as a peace offering."

He just laughed, leaning on her desk. "Hey, at least you're diversifying. You can't just be known as the girl who runs slowly."

"Slowly?!" she spluttered, straightening up. "Excuse me, who was it that lost to me at arm wrestling last week?"

Konoha raised his hands in mock surrender. "Okay, okay, that was a fluke! But this... cheerleading thing? I'd pay to see that."

"You'll see nothing," Y/N muttered, crossing her arms. "Because I might just trip on purpose and throw a pom-pom at your face."

Every morning, Y/N had to join her teammates for their running practice. It was already hard enough trying to keep up with everyone. But now, she also had to go to cheerleading practice after school. And since it was a last-minute addition, the whole routine was crammed into a few days.

Y/N stood with the other girls, looking half-dead as she stared at the other cheerleaders who seemed way too peppy for this time of day. She attempted to follow the routine, though her coordination was more "zombie shuffling" than anything resembling cheerleading.

"I'm doomed," she muttered under her breath.

Unbeknownst to her, Konoha had started sneaking into the cheerleading practice, hiding behind bushes and trying not to laugh too loudly as he watched her attempts to stay on beat. His amusement didn't go unnoticed by his volleyball teammates, who caught him giggling to himself.

"What's so funny?" Bokuto asked, peeking over the bush.

Konoha tried to hold in his laughter. "Y/N. Cheerleading. It's... it's just-" He couldn't even finish before bursting into laughter.

Unfortunately, his cover was blown when the entire team started snickering from behind the bushes. Y/N caught sight of them, her eyes narrowing dangerously.

"Konoha Akinori!" she shouted, pointing her pom-pom at him. "Get out of that bush before I bury you in it!"

The volleyball boys scrambled out of the bushes, laughing as they retreated, Konoha giving Y/N a sheepish grin. "Sorry, couldn't resist," he called back. "You're just too cute with those pom-poms!"

Y/N's face turned bright red as she yelled after him, "I'm going to throw these pom-poms at you later, just wait!"

By the end of the week, Y/N looked worse than a zombie. She looked like a zombie that had been hit by a bus and dragged for miles. Between the running, the cheerleading, and dealing with Konoha's constant teasing, she felt like her spirit had left her body.

One afternoon, after what felt like the millionth practice, Konoha showed up at her house with food, just in time to stop her from passing out from hunger. Y/N's mother had gone out for work, leaving the two of them alone in the house.

Konoha set the food down, watching in mild horror as Y/N devoured everything in sight, looking like a starved animal. "Whoa, slow down, or you're going to choke," he said, chuckling as he handed her a napkin.

Y/N, mouth full, glared at him but continued to eat. "I'm fine," she mumbled between bites. "I haven't eaten properly in days because of all these dumb practices!"

Konoha grinned, clearly enjoying her misery a little too much. "Well, at least you're surviving. You're going to ace Sports Day and then retire from all physical activity forever, huh?"

Y/N nodded vigorously. "Yes, absolutely. I am never running, jumping, or waving pom-poms ever again."

After eating, they walked home together, holding hands as they bickered over the usual things.

"You know," Konoha said, swinging their hands a little, "I'm really proud of you. I mean, I didn't think you'd survive the cheerleading thing, but here you are. And I'll be there, front row, cheering you on... and laughing if you trip."

Y/N groaned. "You're the worst."

"That's why you love me," he teased, leaning down to kiss her cheek.

She blushed, nudging him playfully. "Shut up. But... thank you. You've been helping me a lot, even if you're a pain."

Konoha grinned, squeezing her hand. "You're welcome. And hey, good luck tomorrow. I'll be cheering for you-both in the relay and the cheerleading." He winked.

Y/N rolled her eyes, but a smile tugged at her lips. "Yeah, yeah. Good luck to you too. Try not to trip and make me look bad."

They shared a quick kiss goodbye before Y/N headed inside. She sighed as she leaned against the door, a soft smile on her face despite all the exhaustion.

"Just one more day," she muttered to herself. "Then I can sleep for a week."
