Y/N had promised herself she would make her own bento from now on. In fact, she'd declared it to her mom at least five times over breakfast. But both Y/N and her mom were a lost cause when it came to lunchtime prep. Either Y/N was too lazy, or her mom, caught up with work, would simply forget.

"Mom, did you make my bento today?" Y/N asked, crossing her fingers.

Her mother looked up from her laptop, eyes wide. "Oh... I thought you were going to make it."

Y/N slumped her shoulders. "I thought you were going to."

"Welp, looks like we're both starving today," her mom said, shrugging before diving back into her emails.

Great, Y/N thought, we're the most unprepared duo in history.

And just like clockwork, Konoha swooped in to save her from another lunch crisis. This had become a routine. Y/N would sit there bemoaning her empty stomach, and Konoha, with a bento in hand, would casually toss one in her direction like some kind of lunch superhero.

"You know, you don't have to keep feeding me," Y/N protested, trying to look serious as he handed her yet another bento.

Konoha smirked. "If I don't, you'll pass out. You're hopeless."

"I can survive, thank you very much," Y/N said, but she still opened the bento anyway, the aroma too tempting to resist.

"Sure, sure," Konoha teased, sitting beside her.

Y/N peeked at the bento. "Wait, did you make this yourself again?"

"Yeah, why?" he said nonchalantly, but his smile was a little sheepish.

Y/N grinned, leaning in with a teasing glint in her eyes. "Wow, Konoha. You'd make a great husband. Your future wife is going to be so lucky!"

Konoha's face turned beet red. "W-what are you talking about?"

"Look at you, blushing like a tomato," Y/N teased, poking his arm. "Seriously, you could open a restaurant. A 'Konoha's Kitchen' or something. You'd have a line out the door."

Before Konoha could respond, Bokuto, Akaashi, and the rest of the volleyball team noticed the two of them. Bokuto elbowed Akaashi and whispered loud enough for the whole gym to hear, "Hey, don't you think something's up between those two?"

Akaashi sighed. "Bokuto-san, please..."

Yukie, one of the managers, smiled knowingly, while Kaori gave Y/N a playful wink. Y/N tried to brush off their looks, but deep down, she felt something stirring.

Later that day, Y/N found herself trapped with Hana and her posse again. They'd practically adopted her into their group at this point. How did this happen? She never saw herself as one of the "pretty girls" in school, yet here she was, listening to Hana and her friends go on about designer brands and luxury vacations while Y/N sat there like a fish out of water.

Then, the conversation inevitably shifted to the one person Y/N wasn't ready to discuss-Konoha.

"So, Y/N, you're close with Konoha, right?" Hana asked, batting her eyelashes.

Y/N blinked, thrown off guard. "Uh... I guess? We're friends..."

Hana leaned in, smiling sweetly. "What's his favorite food? Or color? I mean, you must know, right?"

Y/N squirmed a bit. "I... I don't know, maybe ramen? And blue?" She answered hesitantly, trying to brush off the weird vibe she was getting.

Hana smiled wider, almost too wide. "Thanks! You're so helpful."

Helpful? Why does that feel... off? Y/N thought but let it slide. Being friends with them can't be that bad... right?

That afternoon, Y/N waited at the school entrance, umbrella in hand. The rain poured down in sheets, and she glanced at her phone again. No response from Konoha. He'd promised to walk home with her since there was no practice today. She tried texting him. No reply.

Where the heck is he? she thought, pacing a little as the rain continued to fall. After a while, she started worrying. What if something had happened? What if he was stuck somewhere?

She decided to check inside the school, darting through the halls, peeking into classrooms and the gym. But Konoha was nowhere to be found. She even called him, but it went straight to voicemail. Frustrated and confused, she returned to the front of the school, now completely soaked despite her umbrella.

As the last few students left for the day, Y/N spotted Bokuto, Akaashi, and the rest of the team.

"Hey, have you guys seen Konoha?" she asked, her voice barely hiding her concern.

Bokuto rubbed his head. "Yeah, he left earlier than us. Why?"

"He... promised to walk home with me," Y/N muttered, feeling a bit foolish.

Akaashi raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything. The team exchanged glances, clearly wondering what was up.

Y/N waved them off with a smile. "It's fine. Thanks, though."

Deciding to stop waiting, Y/N began her walk home, the rain still coming down in heavy sheets. Her thoughts were a jumbled mess, but she couldn't shake the nagging feeling in her chest.

As she passed by a ramen shop, her footsteps faltered. Through the window, she spotted a familiar silhouette-Konoha. And beside him... was Hana.

Y/N froze in her tracks, heart sinking as she watched them laughing together inside. The scene played in slow motion in her mind-Hana smiling, Konoha chuckling, them eating together. It all hit Y/N like a slap in the face.

Wait... didn't he say he'd walk with me? What the heck?

But instead of confronting him, Y/N walked past, her stomach flipping as she realized the weird feeling she'd been ignoring.

By the time she got home, she was drenched, both from the rain and the sudden weight of realization. She slumped onto her bed, tossing her bag aside. Staring at the ceiling, she groaned aloud.

"What the heck is wrong with me?" she muttered. "Why do I feel so... ugh."

Then it hit her.

Oh no...

She sat up, clutching her head in her hands.

Oh my god... I like him. I've fallen for Konoha.

She buried her face in a pillow, groaning loudly. "This is the worst! I was supposed to just get free food, not feelings!"

And yet, there she was.
