The day of Fukurodani High's Sports Day had finally arrived, and Y/N was an absolute bundle of nerves. Her first event? The dreaded scavenger hunt. She stood on the track, groaning and pacing back and forth like she was awaiting some kind of death sentence.
"I don't know why I'm even here," she muttered to herself. "I should be in bed, far, far away from all this chaos."
Her classmates tried to reassure her, offering words of encouragement, but it was all in vain. Every time someone told her, "You'll do great!" she felt like her impending doom was being sealed.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, Konoha appeared behind her and shouted, "BOO!"
Y/N nearly jumped out of her skin, spinning around to glare at him. "Konoha Akinori! What the hell?! I almost had a heart attack!"
He just laughed, throwing an arm around her shoulders. "Relax, you're going to be fine. Besides, what's the worst that can happen? You trip over a rock again?"
Y/N groaned and leaned against him. "You're not helping."
"Okay, okay, fine. Listen." He looked her in the eyes, mock-seriousness in his expression. "If you survive this, ramen's on me."
Y/N rolled her eyes, but she couldn't help the smile creeping onto her face. "That's not very motivating, but I'll take it."
Just then, the announcement for the scavenger hunt began. Konoha gave her a quick hug before heading off. "Good luck, babe! I've got to go dominate tug-of-war. See you after you find... whatever it is you're supposed to find!"

Finally, Y/N was at the starting line for the scavenger hunt, trying to focus as her classmates and even Hana and her friends cheered for her from the sidelines. She blinked in surprise when she spotted a giant cardboard cutout of her name being waved in the air.
She squinted. "Wait, is that...?"
Yep. Konoha had gone all out. He was standing there with the volleyball team, waving the embarrassing sign and grinning like an idiot.
Y/N's face turned bright red, and she groaned internally. Of course, he keeps his promise to cheer me on in the most embarrassing way possible. But she couldn't help but smile. It was silly, but it was also sweet.
The whistle blew, and the race began. Y/N opened her slip of paper and read it aloud: "Bring back... a volleyball."
A grin spread across her face. "Well, that's easy."
She immediately ran toward Konoha, who was still waving the sign. "Hey, I need a volleyball!"
Konoha raised an eyebrow. "A volleyball? They're in the gym, but you need the key."
"What?! You don't just carry a volleyball around?" she huffed.
"Sorry, not today. Let's go get the key from Kaori."
Without wasting time, Konoha grabbed her hand and started sprinting toward the gym. They found Kaori and Yukie, quickly retrieved the key, and rushed inside to grab the volleyball. Y/N managed to make it back to the track and cross the finish line in second place, which was way better than she'd expected.
She doubled over, panting. "Second place? Not bad for someone who's not an athlete."
Konoha appeared next to her, grinning. "See? I told you, you're a natural scavenger."
"Shut up," she mumbled, but she was too happy to really be annoyed.
