Chapter 18

With the scavenger hunt behind her, Y/N had some time to relax before her next big challenge: the 4x400m relay. She took the opportunity to watch Konoha participate in the tug-of-war with his volleyball teammates. To her surprise-and everyone else's-Konoha was surprisingly good at almost every event he took part in. She watched in awe as his team dominated in sport after sport.

She stood on the sidelines, cheering him on. "Come on, Mr. Jack-of-all-trades-but-master-of-none!"

Konoha looked over his shoulder and flashed her a grin. "Oh, you'll eat those words, babe!"

When his team won the tug-of-war, Y/N clapped and yelled out, "If you win again, you'll get your prize later!"

That seemed to light a fire in Konoha. When it was time for his relay race, he was the final runner, and he sprinted like a man possessed, his legs carrying him across the finish line first. Y/N couldn't help but cheer like crazy.

Then came Y/N's turn for the relay. She was the final runner for her team, and her nerves were back in full force. But as she scanned the crowd, her eyes found Konoha, who was smiling and waving at her.

"Come on, Y/N!" he shouted. "You've got this! I'll be waiting at the finish line!"

The starting pistol fired, and the first runner on her team took off. Y/N watched in awe as her teammates ran, feeling her heart pound in her chest. When it was finally her turn, she took the baton and sprinted down the track.

Halfway through, her legs were burning, and she was gasping for breath. "Why is 400 meters so long?!" she thought as she pushed herself forward.

But then, she heard Konoha's voice again, cheering her on from the sidelines. "Come on, Y/N! You're almost there!"

Fueled by his voice, she managed to pick up speed, overtaking the runners ahead of her and crossing the finish line first. Her team won first place, and Y/N felt like she was about to collapse, but her teammates tackled her in a huge celebratory hug before she could even hit the ground.

Konoha, standing at a distance, gave her a huge thumbs-up, grinning proudly.

The last event of the day was the cheerleading performance. Y/N, now dressed in a ridiculously cute cheerleading outfit with pom-poms in hand, was feeling both excited and incredibly embarrassed.

From across the field, Konoha was watching her intently, his face bright red. His teammates, of course, noticed.

Bokuto elbowed him. "Dude, you're blushing."

"I'm not-shut up, Bokuto," Konoha muttered, his face getting even redder as Y/N's eyes met his. She smiled shyly at him, and he mouthed "Good luck" to her.

When the music started, Y/N found her rhythm easily, managing to keep up with the routine. She even nailed some impressive cartwheels and splits, leaving everyone-including Konoha-stunned.

"Whoa," Konoha mumbled to himself, completely mesmerized.

After the performance, Y/N was exhausted but relieved. She had done it-she survived the entire Sports Day, and she had some pretty great memories to show for it.

After the closing ceremony, Y/N and Konoha walked home together, with Konoha treating her to dinner as promised. However, Y/N was still in her cheerleading outfit, which only made Konoha blush harder every time he looked at her.

"You know," he said, trying to keep his cool, "You were pretty amazing out there today. Especially in that outfit."

Y/N smirked, knowing exactly what he was thinking. "Oh? Is that why you've been turning red every time you look at me?"

He tried to brush it off. "No! I'm just... tired. From all the winning. You know, like my relay race win?"

Y/N laughed. "Yeah, yeah, keep telling yourself that."

They bickered back and forth throughout dinner, but the shop owner couldn't help but find them adorable, treating them to extra food once again.

On their way home, they held hands, enjoying the peaceful evening after such a chaotic day.

When they arrived at Y/N's house, she hesitated for a moment before turning to Konoha. "Hey, so... my mom's out of town again. Do you... want to stay over? You know, for company."

Konoha's face turned beet red. "S-Sure."

Y/N grinned mischievously. "Well, you did win your race, didn't you? You deserve your prize."

Konoha blinked, clearly flustered but unable to refuse. "Okay, okay, I'll stay."

As they headed inside, Konoha muttered under his breath, "This is going to be interesting..."

Y/N just smirked. "You have no idea."
