I could hear a continuous beeping and a patterned tapping. Opening my eyes slowly to the bright lights of the room, I looked around to find myself in a hospital bed. Looking to the side of me I found Aizawa sat hunched over. He had his elbows upon his knees and his head within his hands. His body shaking slightly as he bounced his leg.

I asked "What are you doing here?" I heard his clothes rustle but didn't care to look at what he was doing as I stared up at the ceiling.

"I wanted to make sure you were okay." I hummed.

"Now you know, goodbye."

He let out a breath "Midoriya, why did you agree to do such a mission?" Turning my head, I looked at him "Why, because you don't believe I was up for such a task? Because I'm not hero material?"

He almost yelled "You're a child!" I raised an eyebrow "Ururaka, Kirishima, Asui, and Deku, they're all my age. Surely you were aware of their place in the rescue mission? Togata, Amajiki, and Hado, they're also children still. So why am I the issue?"

He clicked his tongue "This is about you, not them-" I scoffed.

"So, I am somehow different to my classmates? Right, yes, because you don't tell other teachers that they aren't enough or capable of being heroes." His mouth opened but no words came out, humming I looked away once more.

"You let your emotions control you." I rolled my eyes, thinking he was turning it back on me. "Yes, sorry I'm human. Do you want me to apologise for having a heart?" I laughed bitterly "Did you stop to think about all the information I managed to gather? How long I managed to stay in contact? Or do you have so little faith that you just assumed I walked into their hands?"

"Midoriya, you're hurting." I nodded "So, yes." Taking in a breath, I looked to him "I got caught when on the ceiling, I watched that young girl get disassembled and reassembled, I heard her muffled screams, I saw her tears, tell me, was I so wrong for crying? Was I wrong for keeping my position and not helping her because I trusted in you and every other hero on that rescue mission?" His eyes widened, him asking "You got caught because of your tears?"

"Yes, I wish I could be like you, void of emotions. Maybe, you were right, I am not capable of being a hero-" He stood up, the chair moving back slightly "No... You managed to keep your position even in such a situation... As humans we react on instinct, that instinct for us being to jump in when help is needed. A true hero, however, will stay back to assess. Gain vantage. Work in the victims best interest."

I hummed, not interested in what he had to say, I asked "How is she?" His body relaxed, although he didn't look relieved "Eri is safe now... She'll need time to heal from everything, mentally and physically." I nodded.

He then asked "How about you?"

Being more concerned about Eri, than what little concern I assumed Aizawa had about me, I asked "What will happen to her now?" When I didn't get a response, I turned my head to see him clenching his fists by his side. I raised an eyebrow and looked up into his eyes to sarcastically say "You shouldn't let your emotions get the better of you Mr Aizawa."

His face scrunched up slightly before he returned to his usual composed manner "We aren't completely certain yet, although her quirks been deemed dangerous." I hummed.

"So, you'll have to be involved. That'll be great for the girl, hopefully she's not too emotional." I heard him mumble "Stop it." and hummed in question, asking "What was that?" He just shook his head.

Looking around the room, I asked "Was anyone else injured?" Aizawa hummed and I looked back to him, I could tell it was a matter he didn't want to discuss so I came to the conclusion "Someone didn't make it... Who?" He let out a breath.

"Sir Nighteye, he received a life threatening injury during the fight. I'm sorry you had to hear about it this way and didn't get a chance to say goodbye like the others that did hero studies under him." I shrugged.

"What does it matter, he didn't care all that much for me. First chance he got, he passed me onto some other hero." I smiled "Like everybody else."

Sitting down with Miss Ishii, she looked to Aizawa before looking to me. She signalled to him "Your teacher has shown concern over a recent incident concerning you, Midoriya." I hummed and asked "Who would that be?" She looked between us before saying "Mr Aizawa, he said you weren't affected by the news of a fellow hero passing."

"Fellow hero? Not to me. I'm sure Mr Aizawa can also tell you how I'm incapable as a hero. So, why don't you both talk and I go on with my day?" Miss Ishii shook her head, looking down at her notebook. Before her pen could contact the paper, Aizawa took the notebook away, shaking his head.

Miss Ishii repositioned herself and looked at me "Why is it you believe that?" I signalled to Aizawa, mocking how she had before "He said it himself."

Miss Ishii's eyes widened as she turned to look at Aizawa "Why on earth would you say that? She saved a child! My child!" She looked to me with tears in her eyes "I cannot thank you enough, I cannot bring myself to even imagine my life without her. Thank you, thank you so much! You are her hero, my hero." I nodded after getting over the initial shock. "I'm glad she's okay." She smiled before letting out a breath "Sorry to go back on topic, but why are you indifferent to the passing of Sir Nighteye? You evidently don't wish to see others harmed, even those you don't know."

I rubbed my palms together and shrugged "I initially felt sad but it didn't last long... For my last hero study, I was under Sir Nighteye. Although, he didn't have much dealing with my work study himself. I was meant to return to his agency again but he passed me over to Edgeshot." She nodded.

"Do you think maybe Mr Aizawa's comment about you being incapable made you feel Sir Nighteyes feelings were the same and that's why he passed you over to someone else?" I shrugged and she hummed "Okay... Did Sir Nighteye give you a reason? Did he talk to you at all?" I nodded.

"Yeah... He mentioned broadening my training into more than speed, stealth to be exact." She signalled her hand to me "There you go, he evidently deemed you capable of increasing your speed, but adding another element to it. He also evidently deemed your capabilities beyond his own where stealth was concerned, after all, Edgeshots whole persona is Ninja-like, even to the public. Edgeshot also must have seen your capabilities to take you under his wing."

I nodded, quickly wiping at my eyes. She smiled sadly and said "It's okay to cry Midoriya." I shook my head and looked up to try and stop my tears "No... I cried and wasn't able to fulfill my mission... Maybe, if I wasn't so emotional, I would have fulfilled my mission and Sir Nighteye might still be alive."

"Mission?"

Aizawa cleared his throat "She was asked to infiltrate a gangs base to gather intel. Whilst using her quirk to remain on the ceiling as she watched a young girl be disassembled and reassembled, she cried... Her tears fell and compromised her position... No one is putting the fault on her."

Miss Ishii spoke "You're human Midoriya, whilst many wish to separate themselves from their emotions, you have to be one with them. Our body will only ever follow our mind, the place in which provides our every thought and feeling. So unless you want to live life standing in the same spot, you're not going to be able to escape what connects us all. The ability to think and feel, as humans, that's what allows us to relate, to argue, to build any relationship, and to create memories. The good and the bad. Although, those bad memories don't have to be so dark, they can be what lead you to the light... Stars only shine so bright because of the sky behind them."
