BEEP BEEP BEEP!
(y/n)'s soft snoring stopped when she heard her alarm going off, her eyes peeking open. All her senses came back one by one. First hearing, the loud alarm and Stuart's even louder snoring. Touch, the soft blakents around her. Taste, the wad of saliva building up in her mouth that she swallows hardly. Sight, the sunlight pouring into the room. Then finally... well, I guess all senses minus one. No smell hit her nostrils even if she was inches away from the stinkiest alien in the universe. She sat up, stretching out her limbs which were stiff from the sleep on the couch. She had slept on the couch with Stuart, instead of going into the room he had given up for her to have. (y/n) looked up at the old clock on the wall which had the time five-fourty one in the morning. (5:41 AM)
Stuart groaned, trying to pull himself up but struggling to do so. "Wait, Starlight, help me up." (y/n) grabbed Stuart's hand and hauled him up, albeit struggling with his weight.
"Hey Stuart. I think I'm gonna head to school early. Can you handle the taco truck without me?"
Stuart patted around, looking for his cloaking device with a yawn, a tired but supportive expression on his four eyed face. "Yeah definitely. Don't worry about me!"
(y/n) smiled and hugged him tightly. "I'll see you later!"(y/n) never went to school early, never enjoying the cheap breakfast they served and not having anything to do while she waited for school to actually start. She'd much rather sleep in. But today was an exception. She wanted to go to school early before it started in order to formulate some sort of way to confirm her theory about Arcadia Oaks new transfer students from Cantaloupia. If that even was a real place. For all (y/n) could know, every single thing they spoke about could be a lie. She walked the halls of the school with her eyes casted to her feet as she thought in her mind, unaware of an hand reaching out slowly in front of her. When (y/n) was close enough, the hand grabbed her wrist and yanked her behind the corner with a shrill escaping her lips. "EE-" It was Eli, who quickly showed himself when he clasped a hand over (y/n)'s mouth to silence her. "Shh!" He hushed with his finger over his lips. His hair was a mess, and there were even bags under his eyes. He looked completely disheveled and nervous. (y/n) shoved Eli's hand off of her mouth and spoke with confusion... and some concern. "Eli, what's going on? Why do you look like a... like a homeless person?"
"(y/n), I'm sorry! I'm so sorry!" Eli wrapped his arms around her middle making (y/n) go stiff. What. In the world. Is going on.
Despite her lack of understanding and discomfort, (y/n) patted Eli's back awkwardly as he continued to muffle apology after apology into her shirt. Thank goodness he wasn't crying, because that would have been a whole other can of worms. "Okay Eli, let's relax." She comforted her friend, pulling Eli off of her like a strap of velcro. "What are you apologizing for? And what happened during the span of last night and this morning that made you like this?"
Eli breathed in deeply still looking very on edge. "I'm apologizing for not supporting you when you talked about aliens! You were right all this time and everyone just brushed you aside like you were crazy and all along! Alien life is real and hiding in Arcadia and-!" Eli spilt in his state of panic speaking faster and faster and not stopping to breath. He was practically turning blue. This was serious.
(y/n)'s concern began to grow for Eli, grabbing his by the shoulder and wiggled him around. "Dude, breath! Get it together!" She yelled out trying to get the nerd in front of her to slow down. Eli breathed in deeply, before hunching over when he exhaled trying to catch his breath. (y/n) wasn't able to pick up everything Eli rambled about, but she did pick up one thing. Aliens hiding in Arcadia.
That could mean one or two things. And she was really leaning towards one more than the other. (y/n) waited for Eli to calm down before speaking. "Who are you talking about?"
Eli shuddered, thinking about it in his head before answering. "I followed them home when their meeting with Señor Uhl and their parents was over because I noticed an odd glowing blue light following them." He confessed. "But when I made it there, and looked through the cracks between the blinds..."
Eli faltered in breath, having to take a breather before he could continue. However (y/n) didn't need to hear any more than that. She knew exactly who he was talking about.
