From the back of the group, Aja's stare landed on Jim's bag once again. And just like last time, the taunting illumination of glowing blue from its unzipped pocket made the Queen-in-Waiting reach forward with a concentrated silence. However, her mission was cut short when Jim felt her reaching over. Like some sort of sixth sense as he grabbed the strap of his bag and pulled it closer to his side, peering over his shoulder with a confused and suspicious stare. To avoid the suspicion, Aja recoiled back immediately. She quickly put on an innocent mask and chuckled nervously in an attempt to play off her actions.
"Well! Enough of this, we can't just stand here and talk should we?" (y/n) abruptly changed the subject, pulling the attention away from Aja's failed attempt of being sneaky. Krel joined in quickly after. "Yes, what is it we're doing?" He questioned.
"Something super awesome sauce." Toby answered partially. Well, not at all actually, as he pointed to the building they were now approaching.
OMNI REACH......(y/n) tilted her head with confusion as they were pulled inside suddenly. The last thing she expected from this place however was for a hidden elevator inside. A section of the old floorboards they were standing on began to descend slowly with an automated hissing sound, whirring gears groaned as Aja gaped in awe. "Amazing!" Aja gasped. (y/n) couldn't help but also be taken aback with surprise at the sudden revelation. Krel had a not so impressed reaction. He didn't seem to have a reaction at all. "We love rooms that move. Don't we, little brother? (y/n)?" Aja says with an elbow nudge of their sides. As she spoke, she tried again to inconspicuously reach once more for Jim's bag. When Toby looked over to watch what she was doing, Krel grabbed Aja's wrist and pulled it away from the object they were trying to get their hands on. Quickly they tried to play it off again, Krel expressing his uninterest in whatever was going on.
"I'm so bored. Where are we going again?" Krel huffed, crossing his arms in front of him stiffly. Aja held her hands behind her back with a glaring look in her brothers direction without a word, and (y/n) was shuffling in place with confusion of all of this. She's seen literal extraterrestrials and their interior mothership, but that was all things that weren't on Earth. The whole time this place has had a secret basement only Jim and his friends had access to that (y/n) didnt know about?
Finally, Jim filled them in on what was happening after sharing some grimacing glances with Toby. "A super secret... teen center!" Jim declared with a smile.
"A teen center? Five stories underground?" (y/n) echoed with a questioning suspicion.
"Yeah, because teens are so loud and crazy here." Clair added, nervously brushing back a loose strand of hair behind her ear. "No parents allowed. So no telling, you three." She chuckled over to the three of them.
"No, no, no, no, no!" Aja shook her head with a smile, promising to keep her lips shut. "We are excellent at keeping secrets." Oh, if only they knew.
(y/n)'s eyes squinting scrutinizingly as metal doors slide open with a melodic ding.
The place was in literal shambles. Not to mention was creepy as hell. (y/n) felt her hairs stand on end as she looked around, not at all feeling any teen center vibes from this place. No, she was getting abandoned evil laboratory from a horror film vibes. And (y/n) didn't like it. An odd aura filled this place that made her feel like they didn't belong here. At least, she, Krel and Aja didn't belong here. Jim, Toby, and Claire all walked forward without any hesitation, Toby pulling off his own bag pack and zipping it open as he moved on with an unfazed pace.
Aja and Krel didn't share (y/n)'s initial hesitation, and instead crossed inside as well. "What are those?" Aja gasped with curiousity. Krel seemed to perk up with intrigued as well. "Ooh. Looks like human bones." He pointed out, brushing past Jim and Claire to join with Aja. "With bite marks. Oh-oh. Now things are getting interesting." Krel chuckles at the end. (y/n) jolts out of her thoughts and moves forward as well, not exactly knowing where to go and just following behind the Akiridions in hiding.
In the short moment of privacy, Claire shot a glare in Jim's direction. "Teen Center?" She repeated his answer to the three they were with, a hand placed on her hip as she judged Jim's half attempted cover up for what this place was supposed to be.
"Let's see you justify how we're supposed to be collecting the femur of a Changeling and everything else on Merlin's list." Jim grumbles, his eyes traveling away from Claire and forward to the demolished area, full of worn concrete walls and some columns collapsed to the ground which obscured the floors with debris of stone and broken rebar.
