"That should do it..." Stuart sighed, sitting down on the rugged couch in his glowing alien form with a bundle of blankets in his arms. Inside the bundle of blankets was a little face, looking up at Stuart with a tired expression that equally matched his and the big scratchy fabric beanie nearly slipping off her tiny head. "Don't worry Starlight, I'll put you to bed soon." Stuart coos, rocking the baby on his knee as he reaches over and finally pulls off the beanie from the child's head all the way. Their was old writing on the tag inside that was no longer legible to read with long strands of hair somehow embedded into the seams of the material. An odd thing for a baby to be left alone with Stuart though as he placed the article of headwear down on a nearby table. He took a deep breath, rubbing his eyes that were clearly worn with exhaustion. With his human life as a food truck chef, electronic store cashier and taking care of a human baby alone, he was started to feel really worn out. But when he looked down at little (y/n)'s face, the bright shining eyes and the toothless smile she gave him every time she saw his four eyes and elongated forehead made him remember how it was all worth it.
Stuart leaned down and grabbed a small box with bright rainbow wrapping on it. "Look what you got (y/n). It's your very own present." Stuart says trying to sound enthusiastic over his tired voice. He suddenly realized how it might be difficult for a baby like her to open a present so Stuart opened it for her. Unraveling the sparkly ribbon and pulling off the top, he gave the rainbow lid to (y/n) to look at while he pulled out what he had got her. (y/n) looked at the lid with bright eyes, amazed by the arrangement of colors. "Looks like good old Stu got you a dolly!" Stuart exclaimed with a smile, putting the doll next to (y/n). She ignored it and continued to babble at the colorful lid. "And... and a new bottle..." Stuart faltered when he realized (y/n) was no longer paying attention. He sighed but quickly got an idea. "And what's this at the bottom?" Stuart wondered out loud, reaching for the bottom of the box. A raddle snapped (y/n) out of her daze and she looked over to what Stuart was holding. Immediately her attention shifted away from the lid, letting it fall to the side. In Stuart's hands was a baby mobile. But he had cut off the original dangling cutouts and replaced them with handmade colorful planets. (y/n) held out her hands, reaching to grab it.
"Oh I see, that definitely caught your attention eh?" Stuart chuckles. He points at each planet, telling her about it. "These are five planets not ever known or thought of by the inhabitants of Earth. Thankfully for you, you don't need to fall into this category. Because you have me." Stuart snorted, holding the mobile over (y/n)'s head for her to look closer. "This is Baluba, this is Pooplorth, this is Nuobus, and this is Durio, home of yours truly." Stuart snorted with soft laughter. As Stuart spoke, (y/n) made noises and reached for the fifth and final planet he didn't mention yet trying to get his attention. "I wish you can see the stars like I did. Something tells me that you'd love it just as much as me." Stuart talked on and on, suddenly aware of (y/n)'s babbling. He looked down and saw her touching a deep blue planet with a lot of rings and satellites surrounding it. "Ah. That's Akiridion-5. Home of the best royal family there is in the known galaxy. It's an amazing place, and I'm sure you'd enjoy to hear about it when you're older and you know, can actually comprehend my sentences." Stuart smiled, finding her curiosity adorable. "It's funny. The King and Queen of Akiridion-5 also just had children, same age as you. It's almost like it's fate that I find you around the same time."Stuart laughs softly before yawning, and quickly after (y/n) also let out a small yawn. "Alright. I think it's time for some shut eye." Stuart said, standing up and walking towards the crib in the corner. Stuart put her down, but before he laid down to sleep himself, he set up the planet mobile over her crib for her to look at while she slept. "Goodnight, Starlight." Stuart whispers softly with a look of affection. He walked away to get some rest himself, but instead of going to his tiny bedroom, he laid down on the reclining couch and slept there. Not leaving (y/n) to sleep alone.
