Chapter 8: Electric Currents- In the Heart (Part 2)

Start from the beginning

Aja was kneeling over the dried remains of a broken skeleton, with a skull that was too elongated and a jaw way too long to be a normal human in her hands which she examined closely. Krel and (y/n) linger by her side. "This is the worst teen center in the galaxy." Krel muttered with distain. He crouched by Aja with a deepened frown and folded arms pressed firmly to his chest.
"I don't even think it is a teen center." (y/n) looked around more, able to pick up that this place wasn't what their group of 'chaperones' said it was. She just couldn't put her finger on what it was about it that felt so... off. Apart from all the bones.
Even so, Krel continued to ramble on with great displeasure. "Where is the music, the dancing? These primitive life-forms can't do anything right." He hissed. The venom was almost visible behind each word he spoke, which echoed across the walls no matter how low his voice was. (y/n) could feel her body tensing, Krel's words also reverberating across her skull and through her brain. With her throat drying up at the claim Krel had about humans- her own kind- she decided to excuse herself for her own exploring.
"Are you listening to yourself?" Aja shot quietly back at Krel, narrowing her gaze to her little brother. Her greyish blue eyes which concealed her true colors underneath were squinted with annoyance of sorts. "You sound like Seamus and his soolian father." She accused. Before Krel could respond to her remarks, Aja and Krel's eyes look away from each other when Jim and Claire walk past them. Jim drops his bag onto the floor with a thud, as his attention is pulled away from it when he surrounds himself with his buddies. A chance once more opening for Aja. "I'm going to steal my serrator." Aja whispers to Krel, holding out the skull for him to take while she does her mission. "Try and act normal for five mekrons."
"I make no promises." Krel sneers, shoving the skull back into Aja's possession and rising off the ground. A growl rumbled inside Aja as she glared at Krel leaving to who knows where, leaving her on her own.

Krel wandered around more, the now dull almost slate tinted lighting making his eyes hurt. He looked at his surroundings more, seeing his sister, and their human chaperones. But no (y/n). "(y/n)?" Krel called out in a low tone, raising a brow. A small spike of worry coursed through his chest when he got no response. So he tried again. "(y/n) where in the seven galaxies are you?" He asked once more. The disguised Akiridion Prince pivoted on his heel, facing away from everyone else and gasped when a door suddenly hissed open when he walked in front of it and an arm popped out. Her hand made a 'come hither' motion, beckoning him to get over where she was at, and Krel was easily able to connect that it was the human girl he was searching for. Krel walked over with a quicker pace, entering through the threshold and seeing (y/n) waiting for him in this room of... something interesting. "Seklos and Gaylen, you almost gave me a heart attack."
"But you don't have a heart." (y/n) pointed out.
"It's one of your human expressions, gloober." Krel remarked playfully as he brushed past her and further into the strange room, a grin pulling at the corner of his lips which made (y/n) smile like a fool. Krel looked around, a gasp and a chuckling falling from his lips. "Ay, yai, yai. Finally something not boring! But what is this place?" Krel questioned, looking around with furrowed brows as (y/n) quickly moved to stand beside him. The room was so dark. Sure maybe the light from the main 'teen center' was seeping in and slightly illuminating the area, but it still didn't explain what this rooms purpose was.
(y/n) looked down the walls, pointing out the odd monitors and screens that lined across them. Tables with unresponsive buttons and keypads situated underneath and a giant control panel in the center of the room. "It looks like a bunch of little T.Vs. Like some sort of recording studio." (y/n) pointed out, following behind Krel as he and she walk in further. She watched as Krel approached the large panel in the center of the room, his fingers pressing the unresponsive buttons and receiving only beeps and occasional buzzing but nothing else. Clearly this room wasn't in operation. At least not in the way they knew. (y/n) looked back at the entrance they came through, wondering if they should even be here. When (y/n) looked back, Krel was now looking inside of the control panel and had his hands on its wiring. Snapping the cords and tinkering inside of it before getting back up and pulling out Akiridion tech from his pocket and sticking it onto the table which immediately began to glow blue. At this point, (y/n) was so used to Krel randomly pulling gadgets from his pockets that she didn't even question how long he had it on him. "Oh, what's that?" She wondered, watching it pulsate with blue energy.
"You'll see." Krel grinned, watching as the screens all around them turn on.
