TJ Hammond x Reader
First part of the Valentine's Day series. Happy (early) Valentine's Day, whether you've got someone or you've just got Sebastian! We all get to share him <3

TJ Hammond: the first child in the White House to openly come out as gay. It was quite a feat, but it wasn't easy. You were there to see that much. Really, you saw everything. You saw everything that happened to that boy, ever since you were both just kids. You'd known each other almost your entire lives, and you were proud to call him your best friend.

To be completely honest, you always knew he couldn't have been straight. Whether he was bisexual or gay, you didn't know, but there was no way that kid was straight. You just knew, because it was your job to know.

It was Valentine's Day, and you were overly excited. Both you and TJ had gotten dates with two seemingly wonderful guys for the holiday. You'd met Ben, your date, at the coffee shop, and TJ met Andy at a party, where Andy helped TJ stay sober. The day after the party, he was all TJ would talk about. He was mesmerized by the man's "forest green eyes and beautiful brown hair." You were proud of him for finding someone, and you were proud of yourself. You usually spent Valentine's Day alone with some Netflix, but this year would be different. This year you had a date. This year you were eating at a fancy restaurant with a cute guy and you were going to do Valentine's Day stuff- whatever that means.

The only issue was, Ben actually had to show up for that to happen.

You sat at your table, reading the menu over and over, denying the waitress every time she came to take your order. Your stomach was growling and you couldn't take it anymore. You checked your watch. It was 10:45, Ben was an hour and 45 minutes late. You let out a sigh, trying to hold back your tears as you picked up your purse and walked out of the restaurant.

You made it a few feet down the sidewalk before you let the tears flow, kicking off your heels and plopping yourself down next to the street. You were excited, you thought you had found a nice, genuine guy. You must have been wrong. Again. You couldn't count on anyone anymore, you had no where to turn. You were lost, you were tired, you were defeated. Everyone seemed to turn their back on you right when you got attached, and you had no one to talk with when you felt like the world was closing in on you.

"(Y/N)?"

Or maybe you were wrong.

"Oh my god, (Y/N)! What happened to you? Are you okay?"

Again.

You looked up through bleary eyes, blinking away the veil of tears until you could make out the face of TJ Hammond. Your best friend. Your brother. Your anchor. A smile tugged at the corners of your mouth at the thought that maybe you weren't so alone after all. Maybe people did care. Maybe you had someone to depend on.

TJ carefully sat down next to you, wrapping his arm around your shoulders and planting a kiss in your hair. "Who made my girl cry? Who do I get to beat up?" He asked softly. You let out a small laugh at how overprotective he was.

"Stupid Ben was being a stupid jerk and didn't make it to the stupid restaurant for the stupid date," you replied, leaning your head on his shoulder. He put his head down on top of yours and rubbed your arm soothingly.

"Freaking idiot... Hey, he doesn't know what he's missing out on, alright? He had a chance to be with a beautiful girl and he passed it up, it's his loss," TJ insisted, an edge of venom lacing his words. You chuckled and sat in silence for a moment before he spoke again. "Besides, he wasn't even hot..."

You burst out laughing at this, and the man next to you simply smiled mischievously. "Hey, he wasn't that bad!" You argued playfully. "He was cute!"

"Okay, yeah he was pretty cute, but you can do better. Did you see that nose? I swear I thought he was part pig or something." You clutched your stomach as it began to ache with laughter. TJ was laughing too now. "And hey, looks like I was right! He totally is a pig!"

"TJ, you're awful! He can't control what his nose looks like!"

"Well, yeah, but he can control his jerky attitude. And that didn't happen, so we have free range to make fun of whatever we want about him!" He threw his arms up joyfully. You smiled at him, before coming to a realization.

"How'd it go with Andy?" You asked. TJ's eyes sparkled at the name, but he simply shook his head.

"I'm not talking about my date when we have ice cream to eat and Netflix to watch. Come on!" He hopped up onto his feet and grabbed your hands, yanking you up with him. You let out a squeak of surprise at the action, quickly readjusting your legs so you didn't fall back onto the pavement.

"We have time from here to your house, so you better start talking or I'll have to beat it out of you," you threatened, holding up a fist. TJ rolled his eyes, nodding.

"Okay, fine, whatever. What do you want to know?"

An evil grin spread across your face at the question. "Everything. Now talk!"

~

Three hours later, you were laying upside down on TJ's couch, a half of a gallon of ice cream sitting next to your head. TJ was sitting upright next to you, his ice cream in his lap as you both watched the TV intently. You were watching a horror movie, and for some reason, it was getting to you. The antagonist jumped out from behind a corner and you let out a pitiful scream, bolting upright and almost knocking your ice cream over. TJ jumped at the action, eyes wide with surprise.

"Scared yet?" He teased with a smirk. You glared at him, grabbing your carton from the ground and flicking a bit of the cold dessert at him. He shielded himself with his arms, laughing.

"Shut up! It's scarier from down there!" You waved your arm towards the patch of carpet your head was hovering over only moments ago.

"Mhm, sure it is." He scooped up a spoonful of ice cream and ate it. "Or maybe you're just a scaredy cat!"

"Am not!"

"Are to!"

"Am not!"

"Are to!"

"You're such a child, TJ!" You scolded, pointing an accusing finger at the man. He simply grinned and took another scoop of ice cream.

"I know!"

You rolled your eyes. "Why am I even still friends with you?"

He shifted around until his head was resting in your lap and he was smiling up at you. "Because you looovvee me! That's why. Plus, you can't get rid of me. I never go away." He winked before sitting back up.

"So you're like a virus?"

"Shut up."

"You shut up."

I love TJ Hammond so much he deserves the world wow what a guy TJ is so great

I really love writing TJ's character honestly. I'm not sure how well I portrayed him, but I thought it was pretty cute :) Next up: Chris Beck!
