Sebastian Stan x ReaderThe Romanian puppy needs a Valentine's Day one shot, of course. Enjoy this weird cheesy fluff that I hope doesn't turn out to be crap!
You were lounging around the top floor of your house in one of your boyfriend's sweatshirts and some sweatpants. Music was playing in the background, some sappy love song playing on the radio. You groaned and jumped up, switching the stereo off in frustration. You brushed your hair back and sighed sadly, letting the arms of the sweatshirt cover your hands as you put your arms back at your sides. It was Valentine's Day, but your Valentine wasn't there. He was off in a completely different state, filming for his new movie. Dating Sebastian Stan came with its obvious perks, such as his sweet and funny personality, his caring nature, his protective tendencies. But then there were the downsides, which included being left alone for long periods of time with your only contact with him being the daily Skype call, a few phone calls, and texting between each scene. It was exhausting, and at the end of the day all you wanted was to be able to curl up next to him and fall asleep with his fingers drawing soft designs on your back.
You knew you had scored when you got a guy like Sebastian, but you couldn't help but feel like he wasn't happy. He was constantly lounging around with the smartest, greatest, most beautiful women in Hollywood. Surely he could do much better than your average comic book artist self. No one knew who you were, you didn't have fans chasing you around the moment you stepped outside, and you would turn into a stuttering mess the moment a camera was pointed at you. You weren't famous, you had a constant need for acceptance, and god did you love to be by Sebastian's side whenever you could. You felt clingy and needy, and you had a strange feeling that your boyfriend felt the same way.
The eerie silence of the house sent a shudder down your spine and an uneasy feeling through your gut. You longed for the sound of your phone's text tone, or even better, Sebastian's voice. You hadn't hear a word from him since this morning when he sent you his usual good morning text, telling you happy Valentine's Day and how much he wished he could be there to spend it with you. You pulled your phone out of your back pocket, sighing as you saw an empty lock screen, bare of any text notifications. You unlocked your phone and typed out a quick message to Sebastian asking when he had lunch so you could talk. Your finger pressed send before you tossed your phone back down onto the coffee table and sat down on the couch. You grabbed your sketchbook from the table and began the concept art for a new villain in your line of comics. She was going to be strong-willed and intelligent, with enough power to bring the hero to his knees and scare him into branching out for help, something this character has never done before.
You were testing out different color schemes for the nameless villain when your phone buzzed. Your eyes widened and you snatched the phone up and unlocked it to read the text.
Sebastian: Just got off for lunch. Do you have some time to call for a few minutes?
You smiled, replying affirmatively. His call came through moments later, and you answered it quickly. "Hey Sebastian!" You greeted cheerily, despite your disappointed state.
"Hey (Y/N)! Happy Valentine's Day, sweetheart!" His voice replied with the same joyous tone.
"Happy Valentine's Day!" You capped your markers, holding the phone between your cheek and your shoulder. You closed your sketchbook and lined the markers up neatly before sitting back into the couch again.
"I didn't bother you while you were working, did I?" He asked, concern dripping from his tone. You gave him a small laugh in return.
"No, I was just doing some work on that new villain that I told you about. I wasn't really getting anywhere with it, though, so you kind of saved me from a mental breakdown surrounded by copic markers," you assured him jokingly, and he chuckled in response.
"I'm glad I could be of service." He paused before continuing. "Hey, I ordered something online and the tracker says it was delivered today, have you seen anything on the porch?" Sebastian asked, much quieter than before. Your eyebrows furrowed in thought and you tapped your chin.
"I haven't seen anything, but I'll go check." You stood and walked towards the door, continuing speaking. "I hope that mail carrier didn't steal it again, I heard he's been no good recently. There's like three people on our street that have had packages just randomly disappear even though they were supposed to be delivered."
"Really? Who?"
"I don't know, I don't know who these people are. I've just seen some weird flyers around here saying beware of mailman and stuff. We have some weird neighbors. I can't believe you leave me here with them so much." You pouted jokingly, voice shaking as you hopped down the stairs.
"Aw, I'm sorry darling. I promise I'll be back soon to protect you from those freaky weird people. But I really hope that this delivery didn't get stolen, it's really important." You made it to the door, wondering what exactly this important package might be. You opened the door and immediately, your jaw dropped. You slowly lowered the phone from your ear, eyes wide. "Happy Valentine's Day, sweetheart," Sebastian said quietly, taking the phone away from his ear as well and ending your call. He stood in front of you, flowers and chocolates in one hand as he put his phone away with the other.
"Wh-what? How? What are you doing here?" You stuttered in shock, a large smile spreading across your face. Sebastian grinned back.
"They're filming some scenes without me for the next couple of days, so I thought I could come down and surprise you. Surprise!" He exclaimed like the dork he was. You laughed joyously, throwing your arms around his neck in a hug. He stumbled back for a moment before regaining his balance, wrapping his free arm around your waist.
"How long have you known you would be able to come down here?" You asked curiously, burying your face in his neck.
"I've known for a month or so," Sebastian admitted. As he saw you pulling away to smack his arm lightly, he held the chocolates in front of his face like a shield. "I wanted it to be a surprise! I'm sorry! Have mercy!" He cried, and you simply laughed, grabbing his arm and pulling him inside. You shut the door behind him before pressing your lips to his in a quick kiss. He smiled as you pulled away, handing you the gifts he had brought you. He then leaned forward again, his lips brushing your ear as he whispered, "By the way, you look absolutely adorable in my clothes," before planting a kiss on the spot right behind your ear and pulling away.
You shook the whirlwind of thoughts out of your head, overwhelmed with everything that was happening. You bit your lip as a deep blush swept across your cheeks and you gazed down at the flowers in your hands. "What did I ever do to deserve a guy like you?" You asked. Sebastian chuckled.
"I don't know, you must have done something pretty bad to get stuck with me," he joked, looking down at you in adoration. You looked up at him, rolling your eyes with a smile.
"You're such a huge dork," you muttered.
"But you love me anyways!" He sang. "Come on, let's go do cute couple stuff like sit on the couch and watch movies all day then order some take out!"
And that's how you spent the rest of your Valentine's Day, cuddled up next to Sebastian as you marathoned your favorite movies and TV shows before ordering some food from your favorite restaurant and eating it in the living room. You spoke about everything and nothing at the same time. He updated you on everything that was happening on set and you gave him all of the details about your big upcoming projects at work, which led to a series of mindless discussions that never stopped and never grew boring. Never once did you step outside of the house that day, and you wouldn't have had it any other way.
Was that good? I hope that was good. Sorry if you don't like art and stuff, but I was thinking of a cool job I could put in here and I got a notification for Gerard Way retweeting one of Gabriel Ba's tweets, so you're a comic book artist now. Whoops.
Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed! Next up: Bucky Barnes
