Sebastian Stan x Reader

Requested by @crystaliaamaquelin :) This one is a bit short, not even 1.5k words, so I really apologize for that! I tried to write this in one sitting so I wouldn't forget about it for a month again. (shade @ myself)

Your feet shuffled slowly across the floor of the cramped airplane aisle. You clutched your carry-on in one hand as the other hand lugged your rolling suitcase behind you. You scanned over the numbers of each seat as you passed it, desperate to find your seat and remove yourself form the oncoming wave of people pushing forwards behind you.

You finally reached your seat and noticed a man was already sitting in the seat next to yours. You hadn't gotten a good look quite yet, but from what you saw, he didn't look half bad. A rough hand shoved at your shoulder, causing you to throw a harsh glare towards the man who had done it.

"Get moving!" He snapped a you in annoyance. You narrowed your eyes at him.

"Oh, get off your high horse! I've been stopped here for two seconds at least, and you know I have to put my bag in the overhead compartment. Keep your hands to yourself!" You barked back in a venomous tone. The man scoffed and pushed past you carelessly. You rolled your eyes and began to pick up your suitcase, only to find that the man in the seat next to yours already had his hand on the handle.

He flashed you a kind smile as you looked up at him in surprise. "I'll get this for you. I assume you're sitting here?" He gestured to your seat. You nodded, and his smile brightened. He motioned for you to sit as he put your bag in the overhead compartment, and you quickly obliged.

You pulled your notebook out of your bag and began to write down your plan for this trip. It was a business trip, which sadly meant that you couldn't see all the sights. To make matters worse, you also hadn't finished the work you were supposed to have done before you even took this trip, so you would have to work on the plane as well. A soft sigh escaped your lips and you tapped your pen on the surface of the paper.

"Full schedule?" A voice asked from beside you. You looked up to see the man who had now sit down once more.

You nodded your head and huffed. "Too full," you replied in a downtrodden voice. "I'm only going to Atlanta on business. I don't even know if I'll get to see the sights." The man hummed lightly.

"I'm heading out to Atlanta for work too, but I don't think I'm allowed to complain about my job," he commented with a chuckle. You tilted your head to the side.

"Why do you say that?"

"I'm an actor," he answered you smoothly. Your eyes widened in surprised.

"An actor?" You wondered allowed in disbelief. "What kind of actor?"

"The best kind," he joked with a playful grin. You laughed and shook your head lightly. "But really, I kind of do a lot of everything. I mean, I'm heading out to the shoot of the new Marvel's Avengers movie now, so I guess I do a lot of action?" His answer came as more of a question than a statement, but it still had your jaw dropping to the floor.

"Whoa, so you're legit!" Your voice was filled with joyous disbelief. You would be lying if you said you had met a real actor before, so this was quite exciting to say the least. The man chuckled.

"I am, in fact, legit."

You grinned and finished writing the line you were on before setting your pen down and holding your hand out to him. "I'm (Y/N)," you informed him. He smiled and shook your hand firmly.

"(Y/N)," he repeated, testing the name out on his lips. "I like that. I'm Sebastian."

You smiled and nodded. "I've gotta say, it's a relief to meet you, Sebastian. I've never had a flight where I've actually sat next to someone that seems nice, so this is a change," you joked with a grin. He tossed his head back in a laugh.

"I get what you mean!" He agreed. "You seem to handle airport jerks pretty well, though. You just about ripped that guy's head off earlier."

The two of you continued to talk until the safety videos began to play and the plane took off. The plane soon fell into an unnerving silence that you distracted yourself from by burying yourself in your work. You pulled out your laptop and began typing out your latest report to your boss. It was dreadfully boring, but so was the eerily silent plane. You had simply chosen the lesser of two evils.

Your fingers tapped easily on each computer key, and your movements were fluid and unceasing until your mind drew a blank. Your hands froze and simply hovered over the keys as you tried to think of how to continue. Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion as your train of thought was completely derailed.

A soft tap on your shoulder yanked you out of your daze, and your head turned to see Sebastian looking at you from the seat next to you. "Something wrong?" You asked in worry, afraid you had missed something while you were tucked away inside your own head. He simply chuckled and shook his head.

"No, just bored is all. I forgot to bring something to do for the flight, and if I have to sit here in silence for another minute I think I'm going to lose my mind," he admitted with a grin. You chuckled and nodded in understanding, so he shuffled a bit closer so you could hear each other over the roaring of the plane's engine. "What are you working on?" He asked curiously.

You returned your eyes to the computer screen in front of you, and immediately your expression soured. "Stupid expense reports. My boss keeps threatening to fire me if I don't start 'putting my heart and soul into my work,' but it's a little hard to do when your work consists of legal files and a boring cubicle half the time." You let out an exasperated sigh as you clicked save on your file and shut your laptop. "I think it would be a blessing to get fired at this point though."

As you ended your rambling, you looked over at Sebastian to gauge his reaction. His head was tilted to the side ever so slightly, and you could see the creases of thought indenting on his forehead. "Why do you work there if you hate it so much?" He asked you in sincere wonder. "Surely you could find a job somewhere better. I think anything would be better than you worrying like this all the time."

You shrugged and stuffed your laptop back into your carry on bag. "I've thought about it, but it's a bit risky. This job is my only source of income, and I can hardly pay the bills as it is. My parents can't afford to help keep me on my feet while I'm finding another job, and I'm afraid that if I go job hunting while I'm still working for these jerks then they'll fire me on the spot," you admitted wistfully. It was true. You had almost been evicted just last month, and just that scare was enough to have you running back to your job and clinging to it with all of your might.

Sebastian hummed in thought, rolling his lips into his mouth as he stared at you with a thoughtful gaze. You raised an eyebrow to him inquisitively. Finally, he opened his mouth to speak. "Do you have any interest in the film industry by chance?" Sebastian asked you suddenly. Your eyes widened a bit in amusement.

"Sebastian, I'm sorry to break it to you, but I think my acting skills are a bit rusty," you joked with a grin, causing the blue eyed man to chuckle and shake his head.

"No no, I didn't mean acting!" He assured you with a laugh. "I just mean generally. Like, there's a ton that goes into movies that we don't usually think about. If you like writing, designing costumes, building sets, balancing budgets, coordinating press tours, and basically anything, then there's a place for you in film. Plus, you've already got an in!" He proudly motion towards himself with an exaggerated smile.

You couldn't help the large smile that spread across your face at this. "Is this... Are you for real?" You asked him in disbelief. "Is this legit?"

He leaned towards you with a grin. "Once again," he began. "This is, in fact, legit."

This was just barely below 1.5k words, I'm mad smh. Hope this was okay tho! I couldn't really think of much to do for this prompt and I didn't want it to be completely all over the place in terms of the plot. If anything needs to be fixed, please contact me so I can change it! ALSO my birthday is coming up on March 26 and I'm so excited guys I'm going to be 16 which is the age that I always thought of as you not being a kid anymore (because when I was 13 I definitely didn't qualify as teenager material). Also, driver's licenses are cool ;)))))
