Sebastian Stan X Hunter!Millie

Requested by @fightmefool718. Okay, so this request was based off of the tv show Supernatural. You don't need to have watched the show to read this though! Basically, in SPN, there are these "hunters" who hunt supernatural creatures like demons and ghosts. I might mention some of the characters from the show, but they aren't super important. Enjoy!

"Can't you just stay with me for tonight? I know this is important, but surely your mom can handle one more day without you," Sebastian's pleading voice asked hopefully from behind you. You simply shook your head as you rummaged around in your bag to make sure everything was in order. Flask of holy water? Check. A hearty amount of salt? Check. Hunting journal? Check. Burner phone? Check. Gun, salt rounds, and normal rounds? Check, check, and check. The rest of the things were in your duffle bag in the secret compartment in the trunk of your car.

"You know I can't just leave them like that, Seb," you reminded him once again. He would do this every time you told him you had to leave for a few days. It didn't help that this was the first time you had to leave since he proposed to you, and he was desperate to spend as much time with you as he could. It's not like you didn't feel the same way, of course. You hated that you had to go away as well, but you didn't really have a choice. If you weren't the one to save these people, then who would?

You heart clenched as he let out a defeated sigh. You tugged the zipper of your bag closed and slung it over your shoulder, spinning on your heel to face your fiancé. The corners of your lips quirked upwards slightly, and you raised a hand to touch his cheek. "I really am sorry. You know I wish I could be here, but I can't leave my parents alone. They need me. They don't have anyone else to help them out."

Sebastian's face contorted in thought. "What if... What if I came with you...?" He suggested slowly, biting his lip as he waited on your response.

Your eyes widened. "No," you shot back immediately, your voice breathy and horrified. You instantly realized your mistake when his expression fell into one of disappointment. You swallowed the lump of fear in your throat. "I mean, that's not a good idea. I don't know how long I'll be there, and I don't know what kind of shape they're in. I don't want you to see my parents like that. If anything happens to them, I want you to be able to remember them how you know them now," you lied through your teeth, flashing him a small smile. Little did he know, your "parents" in this situation actually represented you. You didn't want him to see you on a hunt. He couldn't see you killing anything, even if it was a monster. If anything happened to you, you wanted him to remember you as an average human being. The human he fell in love with.

Sebastian was visibly suspicious of your response, but he nodded his head slowly anyways. "I get it," he caved in with a mumble. You bowed your head in disappointment with the knowledge that you had hurt him, but you pushed through it. What he didn't know couldn't hurt him, and you surely didn't want him to know about your messed up world.

You placed a hand on his cheek and gave him a quick kiss on the lips. "I love you, Sebastian," you reminded him, making sure to look him in the eyes as you spoke those words. You wanted him to know that you meant it.

A small, sad smile tugged at the corners of his lips. "I love you too, Millie," he murmured wholeheartedly. No matter how mad you were at each other or how annoyed you got, you both always made sure to tell the other person that you loved them. Neither of you were quite sure why. It wasn't like you had spoken about it or anything, but it was more of an unspoken and mutually agreed upon rule. In your line of work, you found this ritual quite comforting. You never knew if you would get to see him again each time you left the house, so the fact that you would both always exchange I love yous no matter how you felt at the time was nice. It made you feel comfortable knowing that if anything happened to you that Sebastian would always know how much you cared.
