Jefferson x Reader

Jefferson oneshot for @CamillaMPSF. Hope this is okay! I really can't grasp Jefferson's character, so I hope this doesn't completely flop.

You didn't like to admit that you were wrong. It just wasn't in your nature to admit that you hadn't been right, but this time it was a bit difficult to deny. You weren't entirely sure where you were, and you weren't entirely sure how you got there. All you knew was that you had to get out of that car before you punched your friend in the face.

"I told you we should've used the GPS! I told you we would get lost! But no, you just had to try and find the hotel on your own. And now we're out of gas on an empty road in the middle of no where. Are we even still in Maine?" They kept ranting on, and you simply tuned them out.You couldn't be bothered to listen to them at the moment, not when you were thinking. You furrowed your eyebrows as you peered through the trees that seemed to surround you on all sides in search of any signs of human life.

"Yeah yeah, listen, I'm going to check and see if there's any extra gas in the back. If there's not, I'll hike a little bit ahead. I'm sure we're not too far from civilization," you assured them, but they simply crossed their arms over their chest. You chuckled at how childish they were being and turned to open the car door. A hand grabbed your shoulder and stopped your movements.

"Be careful, alright? It's getting dark," your friend said almost pleadingly. You turned and smiled at them before climbing out of the car. The door slammed shut behind you, and you were immediately hit with a wave of intimidating silence. A gust of icy cold wind whipped around you, causing a shiver to run violently down your spine. You wanted to turn and jump back into the car and wait out the darkness of the night, but you pushed forward and made your way to the back of the car. You popped open the trunk and turned on your phone's flashlight. You rummaged around in the space in search of a tank of extra gas that you might have left there. You sighed as you found the tank and shook the empty container around before tossing it back into the trunk. You closed the trunk again and turned off your flashlight.

You opened the driver's side door and leaned into the car. "We're all out. I'm going to go scout ahead and check for a station just down this road, okay? Stay here," you informed your friend. They furrowed their eyebrows at you.

"I don't know if I want you going alone..." They mumbled, fear evident in their tone. You smiled.

"Hey, I'll be alright. You need to watch the car for me, she's my baby and I don't want her getting messed up. I won't be long," you assured them. You were about to close the door when you heard a rustling in the forest around you. Your head shot up, narrowly missing the roof of the car as you looked for the source of the noise.

"What was that?" Your friend asked. You quickly shushed them, putting a finger to your lips. Your muscles were all tensed, every sense on high alert.

"Hey, are you guys okay?" A voice called from behind you. You jumped, turning on your heel to face the stranger. You were barely able to make out his features in the dull light of the moon. He had what looked like brown hair that was slicked upwards, bright blue eyes that caught the glint of the moon, and a jawline sharp enough to cut glass. A scarf was wrapped neatly around his neck and his hands were in the pockets of his long coat as he took small steps towards you.

"We're fine, no worries. My boyfriend should be here any second now to pick us up," you lied with a smile. He didn't seem like he was too dangerous, but you weren't taking any chances. It was an empty road in the middle of a dark forest and a strange man just walked up to you, so you obviously weren't going to spew out the fact that you were lost and stranded in the middle of no where with no one to come find you. You didn't even have a boyfriend, girlfriend, or partner of any kind, and if you did, you would never be able to tell them where you were.
