"Were you okay out there? You didn't seem... yourself." Ray asked, helping Meg down from the bed. Grabbing her jacket, she tucked it under her arm.
"I blacked out... I barely remember anything that went on out there. This is what I was afraid of." Meg shook her head, her hands still trembling.
"Afraid of what?" Ray asked.
"Ray, people like me shouldn't have powers. I can black out and have no control over my actions. I could hurt someone with my powers. Rip thinks that I could be some sort of hero... but I can't." Meg looked down at her feet, not daring to meet Ray in the eye. She was ashamed of her condition of narcolepsy and her black outs. Especially now, since she had powers that were supposed to make her a hero.
"You are a hero, Meg. You gave us time to get back to the ship. You shouldn't be ashamed of it." Ray stated at they entered the main room on the Time Ship.
"But Boardman... He's injured. A hero saves people from dying."
"You need to have a better definition of a hero."
Meg sighed, wrapping her arms around herself as she tried to move her mind from the depressing topic.
"Did you get a good look at our attacker?" She asked Ray after a few moments, tucking her copper hair behind an ear. The gears in her brained had started to turn, piecing together this mission.
"No.. I was too busy not dying." The billionaire sighed. He seemed puzzled as to why Meg was asking him that, "You should sit down, you lost some blood there."
Meg sat herself down as Ray instructed, her head resting in her hands as she sat deep in thought. As she studied Rip for a bit- where he sat with brows furrowed while shuffling through some papers. The shock she originally felt slowly went away, nausea setting in. Margaret felt sick and lightheaded, and almost regretted coming along on this mission.
Kendra and Carter walked in, their faces grim. Everyone's heads turned, curious to hear Professor Boardman's current condition. Meg furrowed her brows together, wondering if because Kendra and Carter wanted to save their son, they actually caused his death. Did Rip know?
"How is he?" Sara asked, still clad in her all-white leather costume. Her arms were folded, her faced expressed in some sort of concern.
"Dying. His wounds were fatal." Carter said, looking down at his feet glumly. Meg closed her eyes, guilt eating at her stomach. Rip said she could prevent people from dying... that she could save them! But, she couldn't help but feel as if Boardman's dying state was all her fault. If she had discovered her powers sooner, she could have helped him.
"Are you going to tell us why we are really here? Or who that psycho was?" Jax asked Rip, sensing the tense air. The Time Traveller looked up from where he is sitting, swallowing.
"Why we are really here?" Stein questioned Jax, "To save the world from a mass murderer and tyrant."
Meg shook her head, standing uneasily on her feet.
"He's keeping something from us. That man who attacked us... Rip knew him. Obviously somebody wants to prevent us from stopping Savage, but Rip's own motives seemed to outweigh the others. Savage must have took something from you.... or someone." Meg explained, her paled face expressing some sort of betrayed sympathy.
"How you figure these things out is beyond me, Margaret. But now that you are all here.. I'll tell you the truth."
"So you were lying." Snart remarked, like he knew all along. Being a criminal, he must know one's alternative motive for doing something.
