"Is everyone okay?" Rip asked as the team slowly got up from the ground- those who were unconsciously slowly stirred awake.

Breathing deeply, Meg got up, her hands trembling by her sides as all the energy that she absorbed returned to the light panels above them- the most recent events replaying in her mind. Savage was manipulating her into a monster... there was no going back to the quirky Forensic Anthropologist she once was.

Whatever he had planned for Meg... apparently she was ready for it.

"Peachy." Snart said, cracking his neck as he got to his feet. Mick grumbled a yes- and Carter and Kendra nodded their heads. The priestess helped her winged soul mate up- bringing him to the med bay.

Meg felt Ray standing behind her, and immediately knew what was going to come next. He was going to lecture her, telling Margaret how much he cared and didn't want to see her like this. Even though he was madly in love with Kendra... he still cared for Meg.

So, she turned on her hell, walking away from everything. Meg sighed, looking ashamedly at her feet. She was just walking away from her problems like a coward! There was no way she fit in with these people- the heroes who saved lives and the villains who robbed ATMs and escaped prison. They were brave and daring- they knew what was right. And Meg- she felt she was nothing like that... she was just a pawn on Savage's chess board, terrified of what she could become.

And while most of her was terrified and angry at Savage, a part of her liked it.

The redhead felt a hand gently grab her wrist, bringing her to her stop. A small gasp escaped her, causing the hand to quickly let go, letting Meg cradle her broken wrist.

"I don't need a lecture." She said miserably, staring at the dark bruised that lined her wrist- watching as her fingertips twitched out of her control. Meg's powers were getting the best of her, and it was so hard to hold them in.

"That's not why I'm here." Ray said, scratching the back of his head, "We... Kind of need to talk."

A weak smile spread on her lips as she turned away. Obviously Meg knew what he was doing.

"Kendra and Carter are back together, aren't they?" The Forensic Anthropologist asked. The billionaire caught up to her, slumping his shoulders forward as he nodded his head.

"Ray- look. I know what we had was nice and real, and you felt that way for Kendra... But now that she has Carter back I'm not going to let myself fall for you again." Meg said, the words forced out of her mouth. She could barely bring herself to meet his sad, puppy-dog gaze.

One side of Meg wanted to punch Ray in the face. How dare he go crawling back to Meg after he broke her heart! The other side was melting, still possessing those intense, burning feelings towards him.

"Meg... I know, but-"

"But 'this time it's different'? Ray... I let myself have feelings for you, and I still do, but I don't want to have to pick myself up again and learn to deal with you being with someone else every time a girl comes around." Her hands were shaking violently as tears pricked her eyes. She wanted to hate Ray- to say no and refuse him... but apart of her just couldn't. She wanted to break down and cry into his arms.

But her anger was overruling the feelings she had for Ray, keeping Meg's light in the never ending darkness.

"Meg... I don't want another girl to come around. I won't let it happen. Seeing you like this- seeing you hurt and lost... It hurts me. I want you to be happy, and if that's not with me, so be it... I just want you to know that I care for you." He reached up, wiping a fallen tear from her cheek. Meg looked down, ashamed that she let herself feel this way.
