"Shadow- you are requested where the prisoners are kept." A voice ordered in Shadow's earpiece. After changing into her uniform, the villain grabbed a gun and shoved it into her belt- her thick boots clicking on the metal floor as she headed in that direction. Shadow reached up a hand to turn on the mic in her earpiece.
"Roger that. I'm on my way."
She walked briskly down the hall towards the incarceration wing, a cold smile spread on her pale lips. The woman was eager to find out what her boss wanted her to do. Perhaps he would have her eliminate all ties from who she was- that girl Meg who was permanently in blackout mode.
"Shadow." Said a voice, stopping the redhead in her tracks. Shadow turned, faced with her bounty hunter partner- Chronos. Together they would be serving the Time Masters and Lord Savage.
"Chronos." She gave a curt nod of the head, her gloved hands resting slyly on her hips. A few guards accompanied the two towards the incarceration wing where they were needed.
Shadow pulled up her mask to cover the bottom half of her face. The only visible part of her face was her dark, brooding eyes- clad in dark oil paint to hide the cuts and bruises that coated her face.
The bounty hunter and henchman entered the last room, which was lined with six clear prison cells- only three filled. The prisoners' eyes looked into Shadow's, surprised at what they saw. The redhead sneered- was this team weaker than they appeared to be? Why were they worried about some weak narcoleptic when their own lives were at stake?
"Meg-" one of them- Raymond Palmer- called, his fists banging on the glass. Shadow glanced toward him coldly with raised eyebrows. Raymond looks desperately into the woman's eyes, his eyes softening.
"Meg is gone." Shadow grinned, "She was always gone. My name is Shadow."
"What did you do to her?" Mr. Palmer yelled, banging his fists even harder on the wall of the cell. Shadow stared at him coldly, an amused look on her features. If she was him- she'd give in already. No one could stop Savage. He was supreme.
"The Process is a curious thing." Shadow's voice was mocking and crazed, "Meg was weak- she always was. The Process got rid of her- locking her in the back of my mind like I was with her. I'm the... real Meg if you'd like to put it that way."
"Shadow- open the prisoner doors."
"Yes, boss." Shadow walked over to the first cell and let the old man out- Professor Martin Stein. He was weak without the other half of Firestorm- sickly looking.
Then she came to Raymond Palmer's cell, opening his cage door. He looked at Shadow, searching her eyes for something.
Something in the back of Shadow's mind tugged when she saw him- but pushed it down. Savage said there would be side effects to the Process- but they would only be temporary if she stuck to the task at hand.
Ray.
"Meg- it's me. It's Ray. Don't let them manipulate you- they've been manipulating all of us with the Oculus. You didn't choose to be like this- the Time Masters forced you to." Raymond said with puppy dog eyes.
Remember Ray, Shadow? You kissed him. Shadow pushed the voice down, clearing her throat sharply as she pushed him forward.
"No one forced me into anything. In fact- the Process was a necessary action I was willing to take." Shadow hissed, "Meg is dead- you'll be joining her soon enough six feet under."
