Jefferson - Grace's Party

Start from the beginning

A small smile found its way onto your face and you wrapped your arms around him as well. "I know it does. I would do this for you two anytime." You really did understand what this meant to him. This was the first birthday that Grace has had since her and Jefferson had been reunited, and Jefferson wanted to make it perfect. You had met Jefferson back before the curse was broken, and you were surprised to see how much happier he was when he had Grace around. She was all he had for so long, and it was easy to tell. She meant the world to him, and now she meant the world to you as well.

Jefferson pulled away, his hands still lightly grasping your forearms. "We should probably start setting everything up. She'll be getting home in a couple hours and I have a feeling she'll be bringing some of the guests with her when she does." You nodded and moved to start setting up.

You get through the decorating process with only a few bumps in the road. Jefferson almost fell of the chair he was standing on when he tried to hang up the pinata. Three balloons popped on you when you were filling them up, leading you to sit and hurl curses at them for a good twenty minutes. Jefferson sat and watched in amusement as the scene unfolded.

Finally, the house was decorated, and you were ready for the party. Jefferson stands next to you as you both admire your work. His arm is slung around your neck and he plants a kiss on your temple.

"This look amazing, they're going to love this," he whispered. You grinned and nodded.

"I hope so. I want this day to be special for Grace." You look up at him and he smiles back at you.

"God, I love you so much," he blurts out with a chuckle. Your face turns a bright red and your turn your face into his shirt.

"I love you too."

Not long after, the doorbell rang and your house was flooded with children. Grace ran into the house with her friends close behind, all of them squealing and jumping around. They raced around the house in an eager attempt to look at everything you had done for the part. They all marveled at the cake Jefferson had put together.

"It's like the leaning tower of pizza!" One of the children exclaimed in wonderment. Every child gaped at the frosting covered treat, and Jefferson just smirked at you.

"Leaning Tower of Pisa, and I think that's a bit harsh to say about the poor tower," you teased. Jefferson stuck his tongue out at you from his place at the other side of the room. You just laughed and did it back.

The party, in all, was a success. In fact, everything you had put together went off without a hitch from that point forward. You were completely and utterly surprised, to be honest. Sure, the house was an absolute disaster from the sugar rush the children endured, but you put the blame on Jefferson. You told him to tone down the icing, but he wouldn't listen.

At the end of the night, you and Jefferson sat in the doorway to the living area, watching the thirteen sleepy kids watching a movie. You smiled at them, and Jefferson was doing so as well.

Grace stood up quietly from her spot on the floor and bounded over to the two of you. She had a huge, tired smile on her face and it filled your heart with joy to see her this happy. She looked from you to Jefferson and back again before engulfing you both in a hug. You laughed lightly and leaned down to her, returning her hug.

"Thank you so much for this party, it was amazing!" She squealed. Jefferson chuckled from next to you, where he was also kneeling down and hugging Grace. "Thank you Papa! Thank you (Y/N)!"

"You're welcome, Grace! I'm glad you liked it!" You replied happily. She pulled away and smiled.

"Hey, by the way, (Y/N) here worked really really hard on this party, so we need to start thinking of things to do for her birthday party, alright? Sound good?" Jefferson said with a wink. Grace giggled and nodded. "Alright, head on back over to your friends. You're going to miss the good part!"

Grace rushed back to her spot and sat down. You both stood back up and Jefferson pulled you into the kitchen and pulled you towards him. He planted a kiss on your lips before leaning his forehead against yours. "This was amazing. Thank you for helping me with this. I couldn't have done it without you," he said thankfully. You chuckled, messing with the hair on the back of his neck.

"You know it was my pleasure to do this for you guys. I was happy to help."

He smiled at you. "I know. And that alone makes me fall in love with you a little more each time I think about it."
