Shadow walked over to the last cell- Rip Hunter- the mad man behind it all. He only smiled at the redhead.
"Didn't I tell you I read your file? Margaret- or Shadow- you're fighting for the wrong cause. Savage and the Time Masters are using the Oculus to manipulate yours, and all of our destinies. You think you have any free will now? Trust me, you had more as Meg than you do now." He said. Shadow glared, shoving the man forward harshly as she strolled over to Druce.
"So what's next on the menu, ole Druce?" She asked, a hand resting on her gun. He looked to the woman, nodding his head at the prisoners before turning to Shadow and Chronos.
"Kill them." Druce ordered to the pair. A wicked smile spread on Shadow's face, her hands soaking up all of the light around her to use- only the back-up lights kept the place dimly lit. Dark shadows crackled around her body, causing her skin to glow and even the whites of her eyes to blacken.
She gathered a wispy orb in her hand- aiming at Ray. The shadows were going to enter his body and drain the energy from his nervous system, leaving him brain-dead. She was about to strike when Chronos shot his gun.
Only it was at Druce and his men.
"Have you lost your mind?" Shadow shrieked, aiming her deadly shadows at Chronos. Two people waltzed into he room- one carrying a pair of similarly shaped guns, the other two long bo-staffs. Leonard Snart and Sara Lance.
"You have apparently lost yours." Leonard sassed, pointing his cold gun at Shadow, "Cut the puppet show Red, we have to out numbered."
"Druce's reinforcements will be here soon. We will out number you." Shadow informed them, letting the shadows slither around her like a snake. She easily absorbed the energy- letting some go back into the lights so she could see. Chronos grabbed her arms, bringing them forcefully behind her back.
"Hey- be careful." Raymond said, "She's not gone forever."
"I was barely able to survive the Process a second time- Meg is too far gone, haircut." Mick said to the Atom. Jefferson Jackson came bursting through the door in the Waverider's jump ship- the team rushing together for a plan before reinforcements could arrive.
"Jefferson- how nice if you to join us." Stein sighed, wiping sweat from his forehead. He and Jefferson merged- creating Firestorm.
"Get Meg back to the Waverider. See if what Savage did to her can be reversed." Rip Hunter instructed Mick and Raymond. Shadow cracked a cold smile- her dark eyes still black with shadows.
"You think you can just get the old Meg back? She's dead. Her memories are gone. Her thoughts, emotions, her powers. They are all gone. I am Shadow- Savage is my father- and I work for him and only him." Shadow sneered as her hands were bound behind her back.
----
Shadow was thrown into the containment cell on the Waverider. Ray paced back and forth on the opposite side of the thick glass, his expression uncertain.
"How did this happen to you?" Ray asked, forcing his voice to be void of any desperate emotion. Meg folded her arms across her chest, amused at how weak he was. She could get out of that cell and back to work in no time.
"The Process is a procedure to alter the mind- bringing out the strongest in one's self. They used it on me to fizzle out Meg and her memories from existence. I was strong- and all that remains."
No I think I'm still in here somewhere.
Shadow internally groaned pushing the voice down.
