Leaning her head on his shoulder, Meg let out another yawn- barely able to keep her eyes open. As she closed them gently, Ray grabbed onto her hand, rubbing the back of hers with his thumb, relaxing Meg almost instantly.
It didn't take long for her to fall asleep.
-------
By the time her eyes opened, it was the next day. Meg's hair was damp from a shower she didn't remember taking, and dressed in pajamas that were clearly not hers either, clearly because she didn't remember putting them on.
Slowly, Meg rolled out of an extremely comfortable bed- not her own- and gazed out the window. A light rain fell from the sky, which made Star City look almost magical.
Her socked feet padded across the floor, heading to the kitchen of Ray's apartment. On the counter was a note in his neat handwriting.
Meg-
Went to get Mick. Be ready to leave when I get back- we are going to find the Waverider. There are some clothes for you in the guest room, along with your suit.
-Ray
The redhead blushed at the note, running a hand through her wavy locks. Quickly, she folded the note and made her way to the guest room- wiping her groggy eyes.
Just as Ray said, her suit was hanging in the closet, and a small bundle of clothes sat neatly folded on the bed. A smile crept onto Meg's features- touched that he would go through all that trouble to make sure she had clothes. Ray was certainly a special guy.
Folding up her suit, Meg packed into her backpack, then grabbed the bundle of clothes and headed into the bathroom. She changed into some jeans, converses, a deep blue top, and simply threw on the jacket of her suit. Brushing through her hair- Meg left it down.
After folding the clothes she had on, Meg grabbed her backpack and walk into Ray's living room, where he sat was shutting the front door behind him. The billionaire smiled when he saw Meg awake and well-rested. She looked down at her feet to hide a blush.
"Mick's downstairs. Jax and Stein are willing to come, and Sara is here too. Ready?" Ray asked as Meg met him at the door. The redhead nodded, following him out.
"To kick immortal tyrant ass? Totally." Meg chuckle, itching to find Rip so they could complete this mission.
As Meg and Ray met up with the rest of the team, she easily felt that something was off. She could tell everyone was upset over some dilemma they were facing. Mick was probably grumpy over Snart. Jax probably felt bad for leaving his mother, and Stein felt the same about his wife. Sara, though, Meg didn't know why Sara looked so livid yet so sad at the same time.
The redhead caught up with her, putting a hand on the Canary's shoulder.
"Everything okay, Sara?" Meg asked in her usual shy, gentle voice. Sara looked up at her, and the redhead was easily able to tell she was mourning.
"When I see Rip- I'm gonna kill him. He knew my sister would die if I went on this mission." Sara growled, getting louder with every word.
"I know you're angry, Sara- but being angry isn't going to solve any problems... look where it got me. I know you're sad about Laurel... but think what she would do in a situation like this. You've said before she has made you a better person." Meg said, "That she's the reason you're the White Canary."
Sara offered a small smile at Meg's words, wrapping her redheaded friend into a hug, softly crying into her shoulder.
"I always thought that I would be the one to die first over her... And I did... And I promised myself I would protect her."
"I know... I'm sorry, Sara, I am so sorry. Right now, though, I need you to be strong for Laurel, okay? That douche who killed her- I'm sure the Green Arrow is putting an arrow through his chest sooner or later."
As Meg comforted Sara with horrible jokes and her words of wisdom, they came to the location where they last saw the Waverider. Rag pulled out a small, hand-held machine that looked like it had been built in the 50's.
"What does the nerd object do?" Mick asked, folding his arms.
"Hopefully- it will send out a signal to the Waverider, bringing her here." Ray explained, turning the device on.
"That ship is not taking off without us." Meg declared as she shoved her hands into her pockets.
Soon enough- the Waverider landed several feet away from the team. Rip walked out, looking confused and annoyed. Mick stood a step forward- and pushed the time captain.
"And what was that for?" Rip asked.
"I just wanted to see if you were real this time." Mick stated, putting his hands up in defense with a cocky smile.
"Rip, this mission is not over. We have to get Carter and Kendra and stop Savage." Stein said, folding his arms.
"I told you- there is no way we could stop him now that we literally travel through time almost blindly. Without the Oculus, we have no way of knowing where he could be."
"But that's the key isn't it? We know where he was- what he needed, and why. Can't we put two and two together and figure it out?" Ray offered. Nodding her head in agreement, Meg cleared her throat.
"Plus- there has to be some clues throughout history- leading us to him. He's not exactly a normal guy looking to walk his dog and get his newspaper." Meg sassed, "So did you seriously think this was goodbye?"
