When they broke apart, the two of them exchanged red-faced grins as they walked towards the loading dock. They were the first stop from 1944.
Mick strolled casually down the hall, his usual emotionless expression had the tiniest hint of eagerness. He probably wanted to kill Savage as much as the rest of them.
"You guys ready?" He asked, cracking his neck as the trio exited the Waverider. The night sent shivers down Meg's spine and caused her nose to tint pink from the cold- but at the moment she couldn't decide if it was that or her nerves that made her feel that way.
"As ready as I can be." Meg muttered, cloaking them in a mirage so the three wouldn't be spotted sooner than they wanted to be.
"Wait until he starts the ritual." Ray said, placing a hand on Meg's shoulder as they knelt behind a few shrubs.
They watched Savage change the two innocent teens into hawk-Miranda- which then shrieked by his side as he strode over to the meteorite.
There he pulled out a vile of blood- no doubt belonging to Kendra and Carter- and poured it over the rocks. As soon as it started to glow- Meg took off the mirage. The three sprung into action.
"You two hold off the birds. I'll take my father." Margaret shook out her wrists to dissolve her nerves.
"You sure?" Ray asked, putting a hand on her cheek. Meg nodded, grabbing his hand to give it a reassuring squeeze.
Then she ran off into the open- stopping Savage's ritual.
"Margaret- what are you-" he seemed confused as to why his daughter was there. Rip and the team weren't supposed to show up for another few hours- so seeing the redhead was probably a shock.
"I'm here to do what Kendra and Carter should have been able to do a long time ago." She said, pulling out the long dagger.
Savage pulled out his- and they quickly engaged their blades.
Meg knocked him back a few feet- her ears picking up the blasts of heat and compressed laser beams from Ray and Mick. They were fighting the nasty mutants so she could deal with Savage alone.
Her hands created two bright orbs of light- but as soon as she sent it, Savage ducked, punching the redhead straight across the face. Meg grabbed his arm, flipping him over so she could strike with her dagger- only slicing the skin on his cheek. He was only getting angrier- not weaker and tired. This was going to be harder than Meg thought.
Savage grabbed his dagger and nicked Meg in the side. The sharp pain caused the redhead to knock the tyrant back a few feet in anger, striking him at a different angle.
Quickly she created the illusion of a bear- having it run towards Savage before exploding in his face. He winced, his hands burnt from the heat of the light. Meg grinned, cracking her neck as she continued.
"You think you can defeat me? Meg- you are weak, defenseless. Useless. You could defeat no one." Savage said, knocking her to the ground.
He wrapped his hands around Meg's throat, choking her. She gasped for air, looking for something that would help get Savage off of her.
Then she remembered the other knives in her belt. Quickly, Meg reached for one- sticking it into Savage's ankle. He yelled, loosening his grip around her throat. That gave the Metahuman the opportunity to get out of his grip and back into his feet.
