Dan begged the taxi driver to go faster. The car had barely stopped moving when Dan threw some money at the grumbling man and leapt out, racing into the airport. His eyes scanned the departures board faster than humanly possible and he ran in the direction of the gate, barely missing a step.
"Sorry, sir, you can't come through without a valid pass."
"I don't want to get on a plane, i just need to find Phil!" Dan said hastily, trying again to get past.
"I'm sorry, sir," The man said more firmly, "You can't come through."
Dan stared at the man, anger flaring up. Turning away, he wrenched his phone from his pocket and punched in Phil's number again.
Still no answer and no reply to his text.
He approached the man again, "Can you at least tell me if anyone by the name of Phil Lester has boarded a plane?" He pleaded.
The man shook his head, "We can't give out passenger information."
Dan threw his hands in the air and spun away, curling his hands into fists.
He re-read the text he'd sent at the hotel: Call me asap
He sent another text: I'm sorry, please call me. I need to know you're ok
He walked aimlessly around the airport, constantly checking his phone, growing more anxious with every minute that passed. How had this happened? The entire trip had been one disaster after another - he lost his bag, they lost their way, he lost his memory and lost his temper, now he'd lost his best friend.
But he'd woken with his temper in check, he'd regained his memory, he even reclaimed his bag. Now he just had to reunite with his friend.
He sent a text to Phil: I am so sorry, i'll get on the next plane home
He was certain now that Phil had gotten on a plane and hoped he'd receive the texts as soon as he landed. He could only imagine how much Phil would panic if he got back to the apartment and Dan wasn't there.

"I need a ticket for the next plane to England." Dan stated as he rushed up to the desk.
The blonde woman tapped her long, red nails on the keyboard, "The next flight is scheduled for 6am." She announced.
"6am?!" Dan balked. "Are you kidding me?!"
"Would you prefer a later flight?"
"No! Are you sure there aren't any earlier ones? It's an emergency."
"Sorry, sir, all planes are grounded from 5pm til 5am due to a storm." The woman stated nonchalantly.
"Fine." Dan sighed heavily and handed over his passport. What was he going to do for the next eighteen hours?
He collected his ticket, headed back to the hotel and sent yet another text to Phil: Next flight 6am, please wait for me at home

Phil had circled all the aisles at least three times, scanning the faces of each passenger as he passed. He slunk back into his seat, his mind racing. Dan wasn't on the plane.
Where was he? Why had he gone to the airport and not got on a plane? Was he still in America? Had Phil left him there alone? Did he get on a different plane? Why would he go to a different country? Was he so upset that he'd run off to a completely different country without even telling Phil?
Phil took a deep breath and attempted to quiet his mind. He had an 8 hour flight ahead of him, he couldn't freak out the entire time. He switched on the screen in front of him in an attempt to distract himself and decided he'd try to call Dan once he landed and figure everything out.

A/N - I'm sorry this was kinda really crap - i thought about doing the classic Airport Scene and "happy ever after" ending, but decided i wanted a bit of a twist instead. I'm hoping the next chapter will be better, but no promises.
