"This way." North led the way to the room. You all looked around and you began to look through things as the friends explained. You had been correct. Connor did know who had been taken, but you hadn't heard their names clearly. It didn't matter to you anyway. You just had to find them, not get to know them.
You were looking through some of their things as they all talked about what everyone knew. You weren't paying much attention to what they said, too busy searching for clues. Still, you caught bits and pieces of everything as the conversation played out.
"Were either of them doing anything to attract attention to themselves?" Hank asked.
"No, they almost never leave here. We've seen them come and go on the cameras late at night sometimes. We don't know why, but we've never thought anything of it until now. Other androids have done the same thing after all. We give people their space if they need it." Joey replied.
"Have they been acting weird lately? Were they on edge or jumpy?"
"No. They aren't like that. I mean, they did a few weird things, but nothing super strange." Cynthia replied.
"C mentioned that she was stressed over the attacks, but that was normal. Everybody is." Blake added. You kept looking through things as they talked. You opened one of the drawers and you paused. Wait...why...why does that look... You took out a shirt and examined it. Have...have I seen this shirt before? I mean, it's entirely possible, but why...why does this feel important to me now? Suddenly, your eyes widened as you remembered where you had seen this before.
*Flashback*
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!"
"GAH! WHAT THE HELL!?"
"Hahaha!"
"HAHAHAHA!"
"What is wrong with you two!?"
"Aw, come on. Only the best for your birthday!"
"Alright, now that I'm past the heart attack, what's in that box?"
"Oh! It's your first present! You're wearing it all day today!"
"Wearing?"
"Whoops. That was kinda a spoiler."
"Nice going, dude."
"Whatever! It's not like she found out before now!"
"Can I have it, now?"
"Oh, right. Sorry."
"Huh, nice wrapping job."
"I did it myself!"
"Of course you did."
"*Snort*"
"Hilarious. I feel very appreciated, you two."
"Aw, it was a joke. Lighten up. Anyway, let's see."
"I hope you like it. I tried to match your style."
"Oh my god! This is so adorable! It's so great! You did a great job picking it out! Thank you so much!"
"I told you she would like it."
"Yeah, yeah. I know."
"She had to pick it out because...I'm a guy and I don't know your style as well as (Y/n) does."
"You only see her nearly every day, dude."
"Whatever."
"Still, thank you guys so much!"
"Anytime."
*End flashback*
"Gah!" You yelped as you dropped the shirt. They all turned.
"What? What's wrong, (Y/n)?"
"I-I..." You LED was flashing between yellow and red. "I-I remembered something f-from when I was...h-human."
"What?!" They all exclaimed.
"What was it?" Connor asked.
"It was...fuzzy, but...I remember two voices and it was...someone's birthday. A girl. I...I knew them somehow. I...I don't know, but...this shirt. I gave them this shirt."
"They make more than one of every shirt," Gavin said.
"No...no...I remember...I-I...I altered the shirt." You said.
"What?" You picked it back up.
"Yeah, see? This stitching here." They all looked at the little patterns you had stitched into the shoulders. "I did that myself. They didn't have that before I worked on it."
"So...you knew them? When you were human? But that's impossible." Hank said.
"Not impossible, just highly unlikely," Collin stated.
"I don't know, but we have to find them. Maybe they know some things we don't." Connor gently grabbed your shoulders.
"If that's what your gut is telling you, then I'm with you 100%." You looked into his brown eyes. They were filled with assurance and determination. You smiled slightly.
"Thank you. Now, let's see what we can find."
