Chapter 105

"Because they were trying to throw us off." You concluded.

"Huh? How?" You zoomed out to show all of the attack sights.

"They were trying to draw our focus away from their base. They were going further to confuse us and try and make a path somewhere else. That place was the warehouse. It was all a setup. What they didn't see was by doing this they just gave us the perfect direction to go to find them." You explained. You turned Hank's attention back to the map. "Look, there are attacks clustered in this area, almost creating I straight path to the warehouse. But there are almost no attacks on the other side, creating a faint, but distinct path this way,"

"Which is the direction the van was going!" Hank said, grinning as he began to see it too. You nodded.

"And if we look at the van's route, they're taking backroads, places without cameras. It's why I don't have many sightings on it. From that, we can assume they'd take more backroads and only take main roads if absolutely necessary." 

"(Y/n), that's genius! With this, we'll be able to find them in no time! What are do you think they'd be in now that we've got all of this?" You scanned the map and preconstructed possible paths and locations. You put them up on the screen and showed them to Hank. "Think you can get building blueprints of these places?" 

"Blueprints?" You asked.

"If we can see the layouts, we can get a better idea of which ones would be better hiding places.

"What are you two doing?" You both looked over as Gavin came to see what was going on.

"(Y/n)'s found some leads on where Connor and Collin might be." Hank explained.

"What?" He asked, now as interested as both of you. He looked over your shoulder at your screen to see what you had. After a minute, he looked stunned. "How the fuck did you get all that?"

"No time for the story. Right now we should get officers searching these areas. I'll see what I can do to obtain the blueprints of the locations we've got." You told them. 

"I'll go talk to Fowler and update him on the situation. He'll want to hear about this." Hank said and left to go talk to the captain. Gavin watched as you worked and the two of you talked over your ideas and theories as you looked through all of the evidence. 

"So, you think they'd be in this area?" Gavin asked.

"Yes." 

"Well...well if we go around this area and you scan for any of the van sightings?" He offered. You smiled a little and nodded.

"That is an excellent idea. We'll get to it right away once Lieutenant Anderson returns." You replied. He nodded.

"Alright then. I just hope we find something." You sighed.

"Me too. We've had too many false leads. I don't know how many more we can take before all of this falls apart right in front of us." Gavin nodded, looking just as sad and disappointed as you were.

"No kidding." Hank soon returned and you both told him about the plan. He went along with it right away.

"What are we waiting for? Let's get moving!" You all hurried out. This time, Hank drove. Gavin got the front seat and you looked out the window on the way there. You actually scanned the areas as you went along, seeing if you could find anything else on the way. You didn't find anything on the way there, unfortunately.

Once you all arrived near the center of your pinpointed area, you began to scan and look around. Gavin and Hank also looked for anything you could analyze. You soon heard Gavin's voice.

"(Y/n)! Over here! I got somethin'!" You and Hank hurried over. It was another camera. You hacked into it.

You came out of your scan and looked at Hank and Gavin. "Well? Did ya get something?" Gavin asked. You nodded.

"Yes. They were heading Northeast from here." 

"Well, let's keep on their tail then," Hank said. You all kept going and soon found another camera. You attempted to hack into it, but something else happened. Your program glitched out and you shrieked as the shock went through your body.

"(Y/n)!" Hank exclaimed.

"What's happening!?" Gavin asked, clearly panicking as well.

"Hell if I know! Kid, can you hear us!? (Y/n)!" Their voices were tuned out as small pictures flashed before your eyes, glitching violently.

"(Y-Y/n)!...C-can you...hear me!?" You knew that voice. Collin!? What's happening!? "(Y-Y/n)-..#%!&$..t-trapped! N-need...help-....we're at-%&*^$ S-sending location now!"

What!? No! Not yet! I've found them! I have! I just need to stop glitching! "(Y-Y/n)! Y-&%#$!-m-must hurry! T-they're stronger than we-!*^#$&..."

"I-I have to go! Y-you all have to hurry! T-time is running-*&%$&^#!" 

CONNECTION TERMINATED

"C-Collin! N-no, wait!" You called.

"Collin!?" Gavin exclaimed. You could hear them better now.

"H-Hank! Gavin! I-I found them! I-I'm glitching out too bad!"

"What?! What does that mean!?" Gavin asked.

"Stop shouting in my ear, asshole!" Hank growled back.

"GUYS!" You yelled getting their attention again. "M-my systems are shutting down to get rid of the virus! You need to get me to Kamski's!" 

"What!? Shutting down!? Isn't that like dying!?" Hank exclaimed.

"NOW, YOU TWO!" You yelled, your vision only clearing slightly. 

"Right! Come on! Gavin, grab her and lead her to the car! It's back this way!" You felt something grip your arm tightly before you were being yanked along by Gavin.

"We've gotta hurry!" You told them.

"Almost there! Just hang on a little longer, okay?" Gavin said. You nodded and soon enough you were laying down in the back of the car. "Drive, old man!"

"Don't pressure me, Reed!" 

"G-guys..."

"Fuck! She's going limp!" Gavin exclaimed.

"Kamski can fix her. We've just gotta hurry." The car peeled away and you sent a quick prayer that Kamski could help and that he'd have the time to. It was temporary, but with you being half human, you couldn't be sure. "You'll be alright, (Y/n)."

"We promise," Gavin added.

"Since when do you promise?" Hank asked.

"Fuck off! I care about her too you know!"

"G-guys...I-I'm..."

"Just hang on, (Y/n)." Gavin's voice was the last thing you heard.
