Over Him... (Sort Of)

JADA POV

I can't seem to make up my mind on a damn name. Every week it's a new one. Chris has been exceptionally attentive with me lately. He's been around and calling. Feels nice.

Today I was in a mood. Nothing was going right and I felt annoyed. Just wanted to be left alone. Paula sat at my desk with a smile "so..."

Looking up at her from the papers on my desk "so? What?" I asked.

"Okay let's stop this beating around the bush. My brother is feeling you. And I understand you are pregnant. But afterwards I mean you two can at least try it out to see if you'll work" she said.

"Paula I already told you I wasn't interested" I said.

"I know that. But you are also pregnant so I figured that was hormones speaking" she said.

"No that was me... Jada talking. I'm not interested so tell your brother sorry but not sorry. Or I'll tell him myself" I said.

"Is this because of Chris?" She asked.

"What about Chris?" I asked.

"Is he the reason you won't give my brother a shot?" She asked.

"Paula I know you are not slow. But why are you pushing something that will never happen? You're brother is the one who will get hurt out of all this. I already expressed to you I'm not interested but you seem to ignore that and keep trying. I mean damn no means no. Let it go and move on!" I said.

"Excuse me? You should be at least thankful that my brother was willing to take an interest in you. Being pregnant and all" she said.

"Thankful? Nah! More like annoying. Both of you" I said. Just when I finished my sentence her brother walked in with a smile "ladies". Rolling my eyes cause now I'm pissed. "Hey brother I was just telling Jada here how you two would be a good match".

He smiled "0h really?. I mean I can't disagree".

"Nope! I'm not doing this. I already told your hard headed sister I'm not interested. Go find someone else to creep out. Leave me alone. Paula until you come back to your senses don't contact me" I said.

Getting up I walked out of my office and bumped into Chris who had flowers "Umm hey".

"Hey! Were you leaving?" He asked.

"No just trying to get away from Paula and her weirdo brother" I said. Chris looked inside and back at me "come on". We walked back inside and he placed the flowers on my desk. Which made both Paula and her brother stop talking.

"Don't want these to die" Chris said.

Paula rolled her eyes and walked to her own office along with her brother.

"Thank god! Where did you get these?" I asked.

"Gianna's flowers" he said.

"Yeah I know that place. The owner is very nice" I said. He laughed "she keeps coming onto me". Moving the flowers to the window so it could get some type of sunlight. "What brings you here?".

"For one I came to bring you these. And I wanted to see if you wanted to maybe go out for dinner" he said.

I nodded "sure! I need to get away from this place".

Having Chris drive cause I was tired. With so much on my mind. I was starting to feel bad for going off on Paula. Even though she asked for it. But again she's my friend. A long time friend.

"What's wrong? Music is on and you are not singing along" Chris said.

"Just feeling guilty for going off on Paula and her brother" I said.

"Jada if it's one thing I learned over the years and that's to stop letting others control the way you feel. Paula was doing something that was bound to get spoken to about. You had every right to approach the conversation the way you did. She didn't get it the first time so hopefully she gets it now" he said.

"True. But I'm just flabbergasted on why she is so persistent with putting her brother and I together.
Knowing I'm pregnant and still technically involved with you" I said.

"We all know Paula isn't a huge fan of us. Or should I say not a huge fan of me. So if anything she will try and put you on to someone else" he said.

"All of this shit is making my head hurt" I said.

"How about we just enjoy dinner and forget the negative people surrounding you at the moment" he said.

I nodded "okay".
