Over Him... (Sort Of)

JADA POV

Even though I work from home... I had to pick up some more papers from my office. Chris was home today so he stayed to watch Gianna. I must admit he's been so far good with her. Even laying with her on the carpet so she has some belly time.

Actually ever since staying here they've been inseparable... it's cute. Walking into the job I saw Paula at the water cooler. She waved at me all happy. I ignored her and went straight to my office. I bent down to go into the bottom draw in my desk.

Hearing her clearing her throat... I looked up and blinked "well hello to you too!. Look I know you're upset at me and you have every right to be. I just wanted to say I'm sorry for being an ass".

Blinking at her some more "and also were you overseas by any chance? I swear I saw you and Chris on the foreign news. Thought maybe I was seeing things but it looked exactly like you guys".

"No! That couldn't be me" I said.

"Oh... then you have a twin out there" she joked. But I didn't laugh "Jada?! Come on! How long we been friends? A long time! I miss my friend".

"Paula some people tend to grow out of a friendship. As of ours. I don't feel like we are on the same wave length like we used to be. With being a mom I have a lot in my plate now. I can't have drama and bullshit around me" I said.

"What are you saying?" She asked. Finding what I needed I got up "I'm saying... I'm done being friends. It was I guess nice as long as it went on for". Not giving her a chance to respond I stormed out of there. I mean how many times can I explain what I'm saying... especially when it's clear.

When I got back to Chris' house I immediately opened the door "why didn't you tell me the French news were around?!".

"I mean I am a prince. Anytime I'm there they will be there" he said.

"Wonderful. Paula came asking me if I was overseas cause she swear she saw us on the foreign news" I said.

"She watches that? Shocking" he said.

"Focus! Next time let me know" I said.

"Don't worry! The next time we all go there would be for us to live there" he said. Now with all of this crap going on it's still news to me "excuse me? Live? When? Wait don't you need to have a wife to bring back?".

He nodded "yeah. So eventually you'll be my wife" he said. My jaw dropped "wait repeat that? I think I misheard what you said".

"You heard me. That's somewhat why I haven't technically claimed you. I have to be sure I'm making the right choice" he said. Feeling my heart about to burst out of my damn chest. "Chris don't play with me".

"About what? Since you now know my secret. I can somewhat explain why I haven't made that move" he said. I felt like the sky opened up and the lights came shining through. "Plus we have Gianna now... so that somewhat sealed the deal".

"So you're sure no one else knows about this?" I asked. He shook his head "no one but my family and you".

"Not even Brooke? You guys dated" I said.

"Could you imagine if brooke knew... she wouldn't let me go. All she would see is money and royalty. It's bad enough she saw money as is" he said.

I laughed "true".

"You... you didn't care too much about money. Even when I got you that car you refused to drive it. You left it in my driveway for a year before you finally decided to use it. That showed me money isn't everything for you" he said.

Flipping my hair "I could've told you that without you buying me that car".

"Just if I decide to do this that you will be able to handle the pressure" he said.

I shrugged "I won't say I will. But only time will tell".

It's weird I felt like for the first time in a long time we finally are seeing eye to eye. Staring at Chris who was staring at me with a smirk. Just the thought of changing my entire life in an instant was scary. Do I trust that Chris will have my back?.
