CHRIS POV
You know when you get this feeling in the pit of your stomach and it doesn't feel good? That was going on all day with me. To the point I thought maybe I was coming down with something. But I felt fine. Looking at my phone I pressed Jada's name. It rang and rang... hmm.
She'll call me back.
As time went on... I kept glancing at my phone but Jada never called me back. Calling her again... and again. Nothing. Okay now that feeling was stronger than ever!.
Since I was in the computer already I logged into her Facebook and messaged her father. She did mention that she was going to visit him.
"Tell Jada to call me" I typed.
Not even five minutes later he answered.
"Jada is in the hospital" he typed. My heart skipped a beat. Not even responding I grabbed my things and ran out of the my home. Driving my mind was all over the damn place. Rubbing my hand over my face praying she was okay.
Racing into the hospital her dad met me "where is she?".
"She's down this way" he said. I ran down to the room and inside. Jada turned to me "hey". She looked tired. "What happened? Are you okay?".
She nodded "yeah I'm fine. Just that my head is killing me".
"Did you tell the doctor?" I asked.
"I did but he said it's because I passed out" she said.
"Jesus Jada! From now on just relax and don't do too much" I said.
She smiled "okay. You know what's crazy? My dad told me my mom killed herself and I witnessed it".
Holding her hand in mine "say what?".
"Yeah because he cheated on her and she couldn't handle it" she said. That's when the memory of the text message came to mind. "You know the night we went out I got a mysterious text that said how your mother didn't leave. She killed herself".
Jada wide eyed me "why didn't you say anything?".
I shrugged "I wasn't sure if someone was lying".
"This is way too much to deal with in a span of hours. Now I see why I passed out" she said.
"I should've said something. Sorry" I said.
The doctor walked in "well I'm happy to see you are doing much better. And the baby is fine".
I sighed "thank god".
"Yeah she's comfortable in there" the doctor joked. This wasn't the time for jokes. "As long as they are both okay" I said.
"I'm guessing your daddy?" The doctor asked.
I nodded.
"Yes Jada and baby are okay. Thankfully where Jada passed out at it was grass. Otherwise it could be a lot worse" the doctor said.
"Knew holding onto that rail was a good idea" Jada chimed in.
"Yup but we are going to discharge you so you can go home and rest" the doctor said.
"Don't worry doc she will be resting from here on out" I said.
When they allows Jada to go home. I helped her walk. She was a little shaky walking. "I'm fine, Chris".
"Your legs don't agree with that statement" I said.
She rolled her eyes "granted I've been laying down for some time".
Opening the car door for her. She slowly got in. Making sure she was comfortable. Closing her door I walked around the car to my side. The ride home was quiet. As I expected since Jada had a long day. As we got to my home... I helped her inside.
"Look I know you like your freedom. But can you just limit that until she's born?. I felt like I was having a heart attack today when I was told you were in the hospital" I said.
She turned to me "fine".
"Thank you" I said.
Not wanting to press Jada on all that was told to get about her mother. I wanted her body to relax and rest. It seems like that whole conversation triggered her body to respond in the way it did. "If you need anything just yell".
She nodded "okay. But I'm tired".
"I know you are. Just sleep and let your body rest" I said.
She smiled "I must be a lucky person. To have you in my life".
"I think it's the other way around" I said.
She closed her eyes and was out. Closing the door quietly. Walking back to my room I took out my phone and went to retrieve that text. Looking up the number it came from but it was a text free number.
Hmm... but why tell me about this. That information was useless for me.
