Chapter 13

"Yes you are! You're my baby!"

After those words, Kai hopped off Soobin's back and nudged him, making the older bend his back and wrap his arms around his waist to then lift him up. Their playfulness and the sudden warmth in the air made their hearts flutter with joy at having each other by their side. "You're my baby, and mine only." 

Kai giggled once more and held Soobin's face in his hands. "You mean it?"

Soobin closed his eyes and kissed Kai's cheeks. "Of course I mean it, you adorable, tiny, itty bitty-"

Someone clearing their throat interrupted Soobin mid-sentence, making Kai and Soobin's warm and fuzzy little world vanish as they looked at Yeonjun, Taehyun and a pretty fun-sized guy who was covering his mouth while his eyes shone with awe at the two.

"Ahem, Kai and Soobin?" Yeonjun went on and lifted his chin. "This is Jimin; leader of Air Tribe."

The mentioned leader had blonde hair and pretty blue eyes that resembled the clear blue sky above them. He looked extremely cute and squishy. "Oh, come on!" Jimin protested, hitting Yeonjun on the chest before pointing at Kai and Soobin." Why would you do that? They looked so cute," He turned to the new shy teenagers and moved his hand at them. "Ignore we're here, Sweethearts. Continue, continue!" 

Soobin slowly put Kai down and put his arms behind his back. Kai too, acted as if nothing had happened while looking somewhere else as he whistled awkwardly.

Yeonjun let out a sigh and rubbed his own cheeks while pouting. "You two are making me miss Beomgyu. Stop it." The sentence that had slipped out of the warrior's mouth suddenly made Jimin snap his head towards him as his face was painted with even more awe. "Beomgyu?" He gasped happily. "Aww, you finally found your mate! No wonder your scent has the smallest tinge of banksia flowers!"

"YEEZ! Are you guys done shaming the fact that I can't get a love-interest in these books?" Taehyun finally snapped and arched his brow at all of them. "I mean, come on! How cruel can someone be? She even turned the cool and EXTREMELY tall version of me into a stupid baby with wings!" Suddenly, the heavens above them parted and a mid-sized pebble hit Taehyun's head, warning him to keep quiet before the other characters in the story could become self-aware as  well and rebel against their creator.

In the meantime, Soobin and Kai were already saying good-bye to each other. The older hugged Kai tightly and kissed both of his cheeks. "Please take care, I don't want to see scrapes on your knees when I visit you." Kai let out a small giggle and scrunched up his nose at him before tilting his head worriedly. "Are you sure you'll visit?"

"Of course! You're as special as the others in our group, I won't let you get lonely." He reassured, leaning in to then rub his nose against Kai's. 

Kai let out a breath at the those words and looked up at the older, he was seriously going to miss his warm eyes and soft touch as well as his warm embraces. So, he reached out and softly caressed the soft gray scales on the older's face "Don't forget about me Hyung. Please remember that I still exist. . . Even if I live far away." 

"Oh, Kai." Soobin cooed and brushed his friend's hair to the side, wanting to take a last glimpse at his shiny eyes and pretty rosy cheeks. "I'll visit you lots, I won't forget." After that, the two hugged for the 100th time, once again enjoying each other's presence.

"Wow, great way to make me feel single, Kai!" At the other 17-year old's call, Kai's head shoot upwards and ran to him as fast as possible. Taehyun met him with opened arms, the impact of Kai throwing himself at him made him stumble and fall onto the rocks.
