"Iris, stop! Don't give it to that guy!"
Came a girl's voice from behind her. She reflexively turned around to the source of the voice, her curiosity got aroused as to not who it was but why it was. Iris recognised that voice perfectly. It belonged to someone she held precious, and close to her heart. Someone who even though wasn't related to her yet she thought of her as her sister.
"Ella?"
Iris called out her name, her best friend's name who was her childhood friend as well.
The girl in question, flinched in response. Maybe she had hoped due to some miracle Iris wouldn't find out it was her, perhaps it was guilt that was showing on her face. But whatever it was, one thing was obvious, she was hiding a secret which had just been found out.
Ignoring her friend's call, she turns towards the guy whose previous wide smile had now turned into a frown, spite could be seen in his eyes while glaring at Ella.
"Get away from her and the USB, you can't have it!"
She quickly runs towards the guy and kicks him in the face, making him twirl due to the force and fall down on the floor with a loud thud.
Ella's dyed blonde hair, tied up in pig tails, flew when she jumped to make the kick, fell down upon her shoulders. Somehow her oversized pink hoodie, with black shorts, complimented her hair and her blue eyes like an ocean perfectly. From her eyes, one could say she looked like a doll. But only from her eyes, as her face mask that she wore, hid away the rest of her face. And when she would look down, her cap would hid her hooded eyes as well.
Her appearance scarcely matched the action she just did, even if there were witnesses to this event, no one would still believe that this girl just knocked out the guy on the ground.
"Ella! What's going on?!"
Iris exclaimed, she needed answers and she was planning on getting them. The Ella she knew for so long, wouldn't hurt someone like this without any reason. There is a reason behind it, no matter what it was she was willing to believe in Ella as she already believed in her fully with all her heart.
"I can explain..."
Ella puts her hand up in the air, a gesture to calm down Iris who fortunately for her was not that freaked out.
"But first, I need you to run, please, no matter what you do, don't let these guys get their hands on this USB."
She almost spoke in a whisper, desperation hid behind her low voice which Iris had caught. She, dumbfounded, as to what was going on, but when she saw five guys come after them from the direction where the first guy came, she knew her only option right now was to run. She didn't really know the exact details, but she didn't need them to listen to her friend because she trusted her.
Although one thing bothered her, and that was to leave her friend alone to fight these guys. Even though Iris was never the one to start a fight by her own, she never did run from a fight especially when it involved her friends. She was ready to fight and she knew how to, because luckily for her she got taught by her father from a very young age who was a professional. He never forced her to learn, she insisted that he taught her.
Ella punches a guy who comes at her and kicks him in the stomach. While Ella is going to attack that guy, a second guy is about to stab her from the back but Iris intervenes and kicks him in his leg making him fall down, she headlock him, grabs his arm with the knife and twists it so that he lets the knife loose and drop it while screaming in pain.
But while this was going on, another guy brings out his gun and points it at Iris.
"Run! Don't worry about me, I'll be fine. Just go!"
