"Welcome to our humble house. Do you like it?"

Lucy gave Iris a warm welcome. They were in a wooden house at the edge of the mountain, secluded from the community. From the outskirts, it looked like a cottage. But it was quite modern from the inside.

"It's...great.."

Iris studied the place. There were no rooms. It was a single story cabin, with an open concept kitchen at the right corner. There was a table with computers and different setups surrounding it at the middle. There was an L-shaped sofa next to the huge window which displayed the greenery of the mountain. There were even two bean bags on the ground. On the left was a six seater dinning table in the kitchen area. There was a 50" inch tv screen on one wall. And a door that led to the bathroom, next to hidden cabinets.

"Iris let me introduce you to the rest of the members. They are also on our side, so you can trust us. Although...."

Lucy move towards Iris to whisper in her ears,

"They don't know your father is alive. I haven't told them that yet. You can tell them if you want. They only know about the USB however, please don't be mad. I assure you they won't tell anyone else. I trust all of them with my life and they're all family to me. I hope you understand. What they do know is that we are trying to figure out how Frederick managed to find out about the USB. They are all willing to help because each one of them had something destroyed by The Mercurial."

Iris nods instead of replying. This didn't feel right to her but her heart was telling her to trust these people.

Lucy then went on to introductions,

"Okay so first, behind that laptop over there we have the guy in glasses, our very brilliant hacker and computer technician, Henry Clark. He was once framed for hacking something which he didn't do by The Mercurial, making him expelled out of his college. He joined us soon after."

Henry pushed his glasses back, and said, "Hi." Which Iris said back.

"And those over there, are the twins. They are our best snipers and they are also good at stakeouts. The male is Max Jones and next to him is his sister in twin braids known as Amelia Jones."

They both wave at Iris who waves back.

"And that girl over there in red hair is someone you might remember because she told me about you. It's Alice Walker."

"You're my partner at the training program."

Recognition dawned on Iris's face as the girl in front of her smiled

"Yo! Nice to see you again."

"Same here."

Knowing that this girl was with her in the training program gave Iris some sort of assurance

"And you already know Luke Hill, and the girl who is coming to hug you now is Ella West..."

Lucy went on with her introductions even though everyone thought she had finished. Just like she said, Ella came from the kitchen and hugged Iris, asking about her first day. Before Iris could reply, Logan comes in from the door.

"And that is Logan Wilson. You already know him too."

Lucy grinned

"What's going on?"

Logan asked, surprised about what Lucy said when he entered

"Just some introductions. Anyhow, what' up? I thought you were busy today."

Lucy asked.

"He says he doesn't know. Frederick left the party early after humiliating Dick and cutting off all ties with The Mercurial."

Logan explained, sitting on the chair next to him

"So that's a dead-end then......"

Lucy sighed

"Who are you talking about?"

Iris asked Logan

"A board member named George, you saw him today. The old man I was talking to."

"Why did you talk to him about it? He is one of the board members of The Mercurial!"

Iris gets surprised, she didn't want this George to tell everyone else about everything

"That man can be trusted. I have worked with him for three months and while three months may not seem much, he is a good man. Your father knew and trusted him."

"Still...who knows what could happen. How could I take your word for it?"

Iris was still frustrated and confused

"Don't you trust me?"

Logan asked. He knows that Iris is new and is having trouble trusting people, but she should trust them if she wants their help. Although even without her trust, they would still help her but with her trust it would be more easy. He knew that she is smart and makes her decisions after thinking them thoroughly.

"I do..."

"Then trust this man as well. Besides you may not know about this but Nick respects and trusts George a lot since he is one of the very few good people left."

Logan assured Iris, giving a soft smile

"I see." Iris smiles back

"Hey, Lucy. You know what we promised about? I helped you out with buying you a present so I can get the rest of the day off along with Iris."

Ella looked at Lucy who nodded,

"Sure, you guys can go now. See you both soon." She emphasised on the word soon.

"Let's go shopping!"

She grabs Iris's arm who had forgotten that today she had to buy heels. She did not forget that tomorrow is her sister's wedding. Previously she skipped two of the family dinners they had where Liam's, her sister's fiancé, family were also present. She only knew about Liam a bit and he was a pretty good guy.
