"I am not angry. Not anymore."
He replies, sadness clouded his features
"Then why do you two still fight?"
"About a year ago....no, wait.....it all started two years ago when his whole team died. He became different, detached. I made him take an early retirement from the army because I knew that look in his eyes.....the look of revenge. I got worried that if he continues to stay there, he might do something and they would kill him. I have seen thousands of people getting killed, hundreds getting their lives ruined all because of these people. He did listen to me then but he went ahead and started making contacts among the higher members at The Mercurial. I did not like it but I didn't object to it because after all I was also once their board member when that organisation was still good. But when I saw how he would help them do bad deeds just to gain their trust. I was not gonna stand for that. You fight evil by being good, not joining the evil side. I tried stopping him but he said that I don't care about all those people who died and I am running away. Which is not true. I am not running away, am I? Anyhow, after that we would always get into little arguments about one thing or another.....until one day, I was about to sign the biggest deals of all time. It was something I had worked so hard for over the ten years. But he destroyed that. I was really angry then because I thought that he was doing what his fellow mercurial had told him to do but he said he had some heard something against the guy or the guy was planning on betraying me using me....I don't really remember because I wasn't listening to him and....well I might have become emotional and said that he was not my son...or something around those lines. He might have gotten angry in return, what I may say over reacted..."
Arthur takes a sip of his drink while Iris tries to take in everything
"Have you ever tried sitting properly with him and talking in a calm way?"
"You saw what happened when we talked."
He scoffs, and lowers his gaze
"Oh, I know. But I also know that you love him and believe in him. So, why have you never trusted what he said? If he ruined that deal for you then I am pretty sure that deal must be hurting you in some ways...or there must be a proper reason."
"I do believe him...and I want to believe him if only he would talk to me properly. He always has been so hot-tempered, that brat. He only has one reason, taking down The Mercurial and finding that guy whom he think is more like a dad to him than me..."
"Are we talking about the same guy? Logan isn't hot tempered," Iris remarks, wondering about how Logan is always so cool and calm. But then she remembers about his injured hand and how he jumped down the second floor like it was nothing, without even thinking about it. She then adds, "oh...I see what you mean. But despite that, you're just assuming that must be his only reason. Just communicate. He is your son and you're his father. He loves you a lot."
"You're a really good girl."
Arthur finally smiled, understanding Iris's persuasion.
"About your favour...."
He adds making her remember her goal for coming here in the first place
"Yes about that..."
"You sure took your sweet time. Did he tell you everything?"
"Yes, and I have a plan to which he agreed."
Iris answers while getting in the car
"What?"
He starts the car using his right hand as his left hand will take weeks to heal
"But first you have to talk to your dad. He told me about what happened, at least his version, and so even though yes, he is running away but aren't you running away as well? You're running away from talking to him. He wants to believe you, Logan. Just explain to him and he will understand. He isn't mad with you. He also knows that he might've over reacted but if you..."
