THE MERCURIAL ??

"I am sorry but this is the end. Tomorrow no one has to come to their jobs. I hope you can find yourself other employment."

Upon Rikky's statements, everyone's eyes in the hall were going wide. There were murmurs and whispers. Their excited faces were now exchanged with anxiousness.

"You all may take your leave now. The Mercurial honours you for all your service and tonight's dinner was all about that. Hope you have a good life. Good night!"

He then steps down from the seat and goes to sit at his table.

"What does he mean its the end?"

"What about our jobs?"

"This is so sudden!"

"We should've been given at least a two weeks notice!"

The aura in the room was becoming frantic. Everyone was rushing towards Rikky, wanting answers but his security team was pushing people away. Soon they closed the light and people started taking their leave except the ones that were told in their invites to stay even after his announcement.

When they all had left, the lights were again turned on and Rikky was once again standing in front of the mic to make another announcement. Only a handful of people were now left including the board members and few other people who were from the army and government along with Lucy and her team and one other team.

"Now that we have got rid of the excess waste, let's get down to business. Shall we?"

Ricky's polite tone from before was nowhere to be found. Evil glinted in his eyes as he smirked.

"The people in this room are the only ones who knows about the true face of The Mercurial. Don't you think it was tiring being two-faced? Well now you further won't have to be. We have full support of the government and the military to do whatever the hell we want. This party is to celebrate that fact. The Mercurial main centre will not be open to public but think of it as your head quarter. You can keep doing whatever you were doing but this time, we won't have to deal with the public. Have a fun evening, everyone! Let the party begin!"

He raised his arm and waiters started entering holding champagnes and drinks. Everyone was shocked but then they started hooting and clapping. The tables had been removed in those minutes when the light was off, hence everyone was standing, talking, dancing or sitting at the two drink bars.

Lucy went to talk with George while everyone decided to mingle to find out any kind of information. Iris was standing next to a wall deep in thoughts.

"Well well, if it isn't the woman who tried to kill me."

Duncan approaches Iris, smirking

"What are you doing here?"

"Rikky is my friend. Logan, Rikky and I used to be pretty close during high school. We were in a band."

He replied. Iris blinks in response. She couldn't believe what Duncan had just told them.

"Band? As in Logan can sing?"

"Yeah, he was our main singer. And he was pretty good too. Didn't he tell you? Well, you can ask him now. Look he's coming over here. By the way, I was the rapper."

Duncan replied glancing at the said person who was walking towards them. Normally Logan and Iris would pretend that they don't know each other but since everyone was talking to each other even if the other person was a stranger so it wouldn't be a problem. Also he was curious about what Duncan and Iris were talking about.

"What's going on?"

"Logan, you can sing? Duncan told me you were in a band."
