CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

"It is fine by me...though...are you sure? You are new so I could just ask Henry to do this, since it is his main job..."

Lucy blinked, surprised by Iris's sudden request. She personally had no problem with it because she trusted her, and she is a part of their team.

"I'll be fine..." Iris remarked, grabbing the laptop, "Okay then...good night. See you guys tomorrow."

Iris quickly left after biding farewell, clutching the laptop close to herself

"Wait for me, I'll come with you. My house is on the way to yours...."

Ella belted after Iris who was long gone. Grabbing her cardigan quickly, she rushed outside.

The next day after practice, Iris was at the secret house. She and Henry were waiting for everyone to come who had gone on their separate jobs.

"Did you and Lucy find something about that guy from yesterday?"

Iris casually inquired, eating an apple while sitting in the dining table's chair

"Which guy?"

Henry answered with a question

"That guy...you know....the one with the name like a vampire....the eye patch guy..."

Iris responded, moving her hand in the air like she doesn't remember the name

"Oh you mean Duncan? Well, we did find a lot, considering he wasn't really trying to hide his location. He lives in the mountains."

Henry replied, typing something on the computer

"Mountains? Where exactly do you live in a mountain?"

Iris scrunched up her face and questioned

"Well, you know that little town that's near the famous resort? Well it's half a mile near it, secluded. There are two buildings connected with two bridges, one on top floor, the other on lower level. See, here...."

Henry shows her the images he and Lucy had discovered three hours ago,

"The right one here is a proper building, the left one next to it is just a tower with stairs and on the top is a helipad."

"That's a very weird building, but nice hideout."

Iris looked at the building intently, biting her lower lip while thinking.

"Well, good luck talking to him or whatever it is that you all are planning to do..."

She said walking towards the door

"Actually Luke and Lucy already..."

Henry turns around to find Iris gone, just in time to see the door close. Weird, he thought. Where could she go? Maybe she had something to do. He pondered about how he is left alone but at that moment Ella and Logan comes inside.

"Iris, I'm back!"

Ella beamed excitedly only to find Mike waving at her

"Where is she?"

She asked, observing the place. She thought she might be in the washroom.

"She just left."

"Where?"

"I don't know.."

Henry shrugged

Ella tries calling her only to find the phone ringing on the table next to her. She tries her second phone which she bought just for The Mercurial, but it was also on near the seat where Iris was sitting before.

"She left both her phones here....this is weird...."

Logan picks up the phone and ends the call

"She never leaves her phones anywhere.....and she didn't have any plans for today...."

Ella was starting to worry that maybe she got kidnapped or something bad happened to her. Logan who opened the weapons closet to put his gun back finds a few things to be missing. He had this weird feeling that something was wrong....Iris was doing something which they all did not know of.

"Hey, is anyone on a job that requires weapons?"

Logan turned to Henry, who replied

"No, they all had community work at the orphanage and old house."

"Shit."

Logan cursed, making Ella more worried

"What were you two talking about?"

"She asked me about the eye patch guy so I was filling her in on the details about what me and Lucy found..."

"Oh no....you don't think?"

Ella gasped, her eyes going round

"Yep, she is going after Duncan."

Logan gritted his teeth. He wanted to know that why she had decided to go after him alone. It couldn't be because she believes him to have told Frederick everything or maybe to find her dad's location because that's what they all are doing together. It must be something else...but what? What business does she has him? He thinks about how last night she was quiet and didn't ask any questions even though she is the one who usually asks tons of questions. It must be because she must know Duncan from before. But how? Didn't Duncan left for abroad after throwing a fit at the superiors office? Just what the hell is going on?
