Soobin laughed, wiping the water off his face before gracefully jumping into the water with the three dolphins.
The dolphins squeaked cheerfully and swam in circles around Soobin, nudging him with their bottle-like noses and blowing bubbles out of their blowholes. The couple's calf in particular brushed itself against Soobin while whistling to him in a language that a land-creature would only understand aS a tangle of squeaks and high-pitched creaks.
"H-Huh?" Soobin immediately blushed before holding the small calf between his arms, rubbing his fist against her smooth skin. "What are you talking about?!"
The baby squeaked once more and playfully shook Soobin away before swimming back to her parents who nudged her, scolding for asking their hunting-partner such questions. The calf squeaked before swimming back towards the surface, wanting to ask another important question to Soobin's Promise.
Kai was lying at the edge of the bedrock, his head lowered so he was staring at the ocean, wondering if Soobin had ditched them for those. . . Dolphins.
But his gaze soon shifted towards a small fish-like cutie with a bottle-like nose and rosy smooth skin. The little dolphin blew water out of her blowhole and dived into the water, purposefully splashing him.
Kai moved his head away and wiped his face. He shook his head and looked at the little dolphin squeaking and making an awful creak-like sound. Suddenly two more dolphins appeared, squeaking loudly and desperately at him as if they were begging him for something.
"I. . . Uh. . ."
Kai just crawled away from the edge of the rock and away from the trio who then dispersed to swim around the bedrock, not knowing that they might be the future reason for Kai to have a panic attack after a whole 2 and a half months of being stress-free.
But before he could start to hyperventilate, Soobin broke away from the water. "Okay, okay, okay. Stop! I'll ask! You'll scare him like that." The older hissed, causing the terrifying circling of the bedrock to stop.
At Soobin's hiss and the sudden scent of fear and distress began to linger in the air, the dolphins looked at each other and sank into the water, preferring the idea of Soobin doing the talking instead of them.
Soobin sank his claws into the rock and hurled himself forward and out of the water. He saw Kai sitting while hugging his legs as his frame began to tremble slightly. Kai looked so small and vulnerable like that, it made Soobin's heart sink.
"Kai. . ." Soobin reached out and pulled Kai onto his lap like he had done earlier. The younger boy loosened and wrapped his arms around Soobin's waist, wanting to be comforted by the beating of his heart once more.
"It's okay, Baby. Breathe." The older said, firmly holding Kai and pressing him against his chest so the younger could relax and regulate his breathing. "It's okay, you're okay," He whispered soothingly, his fingers slowly tangling with Kai's raven locks to comfort him.
Kai breathed in and then let out. He had squeezed his eyes shut, so now that his breathing was becoming more regular, he let his silver eyes flutter open. He looked at the ocean while listening to Soobin's quiet hums.
He let out a small smile, of course he was okay. Soobin was with him, nothing bad would happen as long as he was with him.
After all, that's why he trusted Soobin.
