Lian's POV:
The continuous clacking sound of my heels echoed through my ear, the constant heavy breathings that both me and max looped all around my head, I feel like I'm dizzy, but at the same time... Energized and prepared to do anything.
I mainly focused on our tasks but I keep averting my gaze to whatever is in front of me, my eyes keep flying over to look at max who was beside me, for once I realized that without them, I would've really lost everything... I wouldn't be able to get back up on my own two feet... I'd just be a burden in the world I was born in...
These negative ideas keep popping up I don't know where these came from... I don't know why they're all of a sudden appearing I just....
"Lian!" My mind felt like it was snapped back to reality, looking at my right side, I saw max, standing in front of me, his eyes looked worried... I wonder why.
"H-huh?" I felt all confused as to why we stopped running.
"What's the matter? Why are you tearing up?" He asked me as he scooped one of the teardrops sliding down on my tear to my cheeks.
"O-oh! Forgive me... I don't know what's gotten into me..." I apologized... I'm losing focus.
"It's okay... Let's just move on hm?" He politely patted my shoulder and gave me a wide grin before we proceeded on.
We finally arrived at the third crystal, it's shards were as small as the previous ones that were destroyed but this looks more damaged and pulverized...
"Do you think you can still fix them lian? These look more... Dusted" max took a small sample of the dusted crystal and rubbed them off with his fingertips.
"I can try... I know I can fix them but it'll take me a lot of time"
Hovering my hand above the shattered remains of the crystal, I began to whisper a soft chant, almost inaudible even to my ears.
My palm began to emit a bright glow, almost able to blind both of us.
After giving it a few seconds to work, the dusts seems to refuse to communicate with my power.
"Hm... This can't be good" I sighed tiredly for waiting a long time just to see the crystals remained destroyed.
I saw max come up to me and kneeled down.
"It didn't work?" He asked before turning his head on my direction.
"It would seem so" I rolled my eyes and stood back up.
Max as well got up and tidied himself up before investigating as to what is currently going on.
"This should've worked... I am too sure of this, something's off" I stated.
It is quite strange as to how my power didn't apply itself to the crystal.
Placing both of my hands on my hips, I watched over max and noticed something, his ears perked up.
Slowly approaching him, I squinted my eyes in the direction he was looking at, trying to give it a clearer look, my eyes widened.
"No... That can't be it" I mumbled, we both stood and stared at a bunch of shards that looked like real crystals...
"Yes... Those must be the real crystals" max replied.
"Then that means-" I felt a glow emit behind us, quickly equpping my guns along with max activating his gauntlets, both of us received a great hit on our stomachs making us drop down on one of the highest buildings.
3rd Person's POV:
As the moment lian and max had turned around, a tail that's surely belongs to a beast whipped them both hard in their stomach, pushing them off the building causing them to fall over.
The impact was too strong on max making him unconscious along the drop, lian immediately saw him and jumped at his area where he had swiftly catched the falling beastman and dropped safely back on the ground.
Lian let out a tired sigh as he sat max on one of the nearby rubbles of the building's remaining debris.
He checked for any wounds to patch but fortunately, everything seems fine for the beastman, just his unconscious state that he should be worried about.
Lian got up and looked at his side, not yet facing the huge creature that his powers had accidentally revived.
Using his guns to tilt his glasses to fix its angle properly, he smirked, followed by a confident and brave snicker.
Facing the enemy by elegantly turning around, he slowly walked towards it while gracefully flaunting his weapon.
"Care to tell me why a beast like you revived by my power would actually fight its own master?" He asked as a form of taunting.
The beast did not care for any of his actions but replied to him with a loud and disturbing shriek.
Lian, not being intimidated at it only laughed and aimed his guns at it.
"Fine, if you're so needy for attention, then I guess, I might just let you have it~" he replied, followed by a wink.
The creature let its monstrous several tails move into action and striked Lian's position all at once.
"Mhm..." Lian jumped off away from his current position and began to shower the tails with countless amounts of heavy bullets.
The bullets then exploded as it reached contact with the tails causing the huge beasts to take a few steps back, distracting it in the process.
Lian got back down on the ground with a perfect smirk still displayed on his face as he switched his weapons from guns to a huge scythe in just a heartbeat.
"Get ready for a hard time~" he laughed as he jumped at where the tails got blasted and slashed them one by one, cutting them off afterwards.
The beast let out another horrible shriek but was immediately cut by lian when he fed its gaping mouth a powerful kick using both of his legs causing it to fall a few steps back.
Lian who gracefully got back down with his hands now crossed on his chest, watched as the beast continued to let out loud bellowing of roars from the continuous damage it received from his attacks.
The standing man frowned to see the beast slowly become weak and unable to fight back.
Lian: It would seem that you're not ready for now... You may have regenerated half of your body... But you're still no match for the one that gave you that power.
His tone still indicating dominance and superiority towards the crying beast.
Lian: Hm... Perhaps turning you as lunch for my fellow beast partners might be a wise choice~
He snickered.
Flawlessly moving his hands to the side, now turning upwards he took a deep breath as his eyes emitted a bright lavender light.
Lian: Pdhaaman Alviorliel!
A long chant he spoke with much power and force as a portal beneath the huge beast appeared.
The creature felt several hands grabbed its feet, hands and head until it forcefully pulled it down the portal, feasting on the weakened beast.
Lian let out a chuckle as the portal he opened closed and the beast that he accidentally revived, devoured and was eaten by his "behaved" pets.
Turning around to look at max, Lian's eyes darted to the beastman's gaze towards him.
The furry male was stunned to what he just witnessed.
Lian: Max? What has gotten into you?
Lian asked as he slowly approached him.
Max: I- uh... Nothing! But... Your power...
Lian: What about it?
Max: You barely used that kind of power... Your summoning power to be more precise.
Lian: Summoning takes a lot of energy for us warlocks... So it's best for us to just use it whenever it's necessary and needed.
Max: Oh...
Lian: Yes.... Now if we can focus on our main goal here I would pretty much appreciate that.
Max: Right right...
Max moved aside and watched as lian did his job to fix the crystal.
With just one snap, lian was able to reverse the crystal back to its original state.
Lian: Now, let's be off.
With the third crystal finally formed back again, it will only be a matter of time before they can find the last one and fix it too as well...
--- Meanwhile..... ---
Charlotte's POV:
And here I thought these monsters would show me the true meaning of difficulty...
I chuckled as I watched them almost kneel for my mercy.
Gently sliding two of my fingers across my blade, it began to shine brightly, its sharpness now enhanced.
With the use of my speed, I immediately vanished from their sight, giving me the ability to slice them all up into bits and pieces.
I could hear the loud clashing from my blade against the solid matters that it comes in contact with along with the spilling gushes of the beast's bloods all over the place.
I kept on slashing and dicing them all up until I saw only several pieces of them left.
"Truly nothing can withstand my blade" I chuckled as I deactivated my sword.
Watching the three beastmen take care of their side of the job, I simply waited for lian and max to come back before I bid my farewell... I can't let Agustin wait for me very long.
Currently observing the portal above us, I noticed the black energy that's surrounding it slowly fade off.
"Hm... Could they've found the third crystal?" In which I asked myself.
Wondering for quite some time, I felt a subtle feeling of twitch on my senses... I felt a familiar presence slowly crawling on to me.
It feels like something is poking me on my mind but I just can't seem to figure it out...
Getting my blade ready once again, I was immediately surprised when I heart the sudden sound of an arrow traveling in a very quick speed.
The arrow landed on a nearby small but a hostile looking uni-beast... But wait... An arrow?!
"No! Agustin?!" Just as I spoke Agustin's name I heard the familiar sound of paws landing behind me.
"My dear friend!" Immediately turning around, I was greeted by a warm hug from my furry friend.
"I couldn't wait no longer for you return Charlotte!" He spoke before breaking the hug between the two of us.
"But Agustin, I-"
"I truly apologize Charlotte... But the thought of you not being able to come back frightened me... I thought I might lose you!" His voice started to sound more clingy than ever while his eyes stared at me so deeply I had no choice but to accept it.
"Agustin..."
Our short moment got interrupted when a large uni-beast appeared behind me.
"Let's save the chatting for later hm?" I spun my blade around and prepared my stance as Agustin took another arrow from his quiver before reloading his bow.
"Let's do this Charlotte!"
In a swift second, we both advanced and striked our current enemy!
I sliced its tentacles off before it even managed to use it against us as I saw several arrows pass me by and striked the beast right in its eyes making it go blind.
I noticed how powerful Agustin's aiming skills are... How its impacts towards its targets deals massive damage.
As the uni-beast tried to reform its eyes back up again, I immediately took the chance and sliced its head and neck off of its body, finishing it off in the process.
I landed safely and with no harm while the beast we slayed slowly started to disintegrate.
Looking at Agustin's direction, I quickly shouted at him.
"Agustin!"
My eyes widened as to what I've witnessed...
