Emely focused her eyes on a normal looking treadmill that was I front of her.

"We're all set." Emely looked at Cisco and Barry who were by a wall made out of boxes.

"A little padding just in case." Barry nodded.

Emely watched as Barry climbed onto the treadmill.

"Are you sure about this Cisco? It seems like a normal treadmill to me." Cisco looked at Emely.

"This may seem like a normal home treadmill. They only go up to 12 miles per hour. But this treadmill has been Cisco'ed. It can handle Barry's speed." Emely nodded.

They began to test Barry and the treadmill began to move. Barry began to walk and then started to run faster and faster until all Emely saw was a blur.

"Heart rate, blood pressure, and nerve conduction are all normal. For Barry." Emely kept watching as he flawlessly ran fast.

"Brain wave function within standard limits." Caitlin looked over at Barry who was still running.

Emely shook her head. "Unbelievable."

Cisco grinned. "I told you my treadmill could take it."

Emely glanced down to check everything else. "Guys, look at Barry's glucose levels."

Caitlin did as Emely said and saw that that's where the problem was.

"Oh god. Of course. Glucose." Barry kept running.

"Barry," Emely called out, "we think we know why you keep-"

There was a thud coming from Barry who collided with the boxes.

"-passing out." Emely walked over to Barry.

She pulled his limp body up as best as she could and got him onto her back. She carried him to the medical bed.

"For a skinny guy, he's really heavy." Emely tried to catch her breath.

"Emely," Caitlin spoke, "you said that your parents left you right?"

Emely nodded at the young doctor.

"What exactly happened after that?" Emely sighed.

"As much as I can remember, my Aunt talked about them for a month. I would always ask 'Where's mommy and daddy?' and she would say that they left to go get me a surprise that would take a couple of weeks to get. After a month passed, I would ask her and she would start to say that they left." Emely looked up at Cisco and Caitlin.

"Did you have any brothers or sisters?" Emely shrugged.

"Not that I know of. My parents never mentioned a brother or sister. Neither did my Aunt. My parents did talk on the phone a lot with someone. They would always mention an emergency, a trip, and me."

Cisco opened his mouth, but before he could reply, there was a groan from Barry.

"I passed out again?" Emely nodded.

"Yeah. Total metabolic failure brought on by acute hypoglycemia." Barry stood up.

"I'm not eating enough?" Emely nodded.

"Exactly." Barry nodded.

"So an I.V bag and I'm good to go." Cisco scoffed and turned to Barry.

Cisco pointed to a bunch of I.V bags hanging on a rack.

"Try 40. Guess you were thirsty." Emely looked at Barry with disapproval.

"Bare, you have to remember that you need to eat and drink. Just because you're a meta-human, doesn't mean you should skip drinking water." Caitlin nodded.

"She's right. We're gunna need to fashion you on a diet based on your metabolic changes." Caitlin started walking away from Barry and Emely.

"I've done a few calculations. You need to consume an amount equal to roughly around 850 tacos." Emely widened her eyes.

"That's a lot of tacos." Cisco nodded.

"Unless we're talking about cheese and guac, then that's a whole other equation." Cisco went to figure that out.

As they were talking about Barry's food intake, they didn't realize that they had an approaching visitor.

"For Mexican, I recommend Tito's down on Bruckner Avenue."

Joe West noticed Barry standing there with a shocked expression. He then looked at a certain blue eyed girl who had surprised him with her presence in the facility.

"Detective West, what brings you to S.T.A.R Labs?" Joe pointed at Barry and Emely.

"I tried looking for them at Barry's lab. I then found a S.T.A.R Labs sweatshirt so I came here looking for Barry. It turns out that I get Emely as well. I read reports about a red streak. That surprised me, but not as much as the reports of that red streak carrying a girl with him." Dr. Wells turned to Barry and Emely.

"You didn't tell him we were working together?" Emely looked at Barry who was speechless.

"Joe, we can explain." Joe held up his hand at the scarlet speedster which made him stop talking.

"I don't want an explanation. You already have a job, Barry, in law enforcement. Emely, I told you to make sure Barry was okay." Emely scoffed

"That's what I've been doing this whole time. I've been making sure he doesn't freaking die while risking his life to save this city. Do you know how worried I get when something happens to Barry? I get paranoid when just simply think of Barry dying and that's why I have to be there by his side. You think that I'm here because I'm not protecting Barry, but I am. That's what I've been doing and that's what I'll continue doing." Emely let out a breath.

Barry was the one mostly surprised about Emely's outburst. She didn't know that she felt that way about him risking his life. Joe was a bit surprised but he knew that Emely was worried about Barry because he could see her emotions in her eyes when Barry's around.

"Barry, I suggest you back to your actual job." Barry sighed.

"Mhm." They all looked at Caitlin

"Don't look at me. I'm on your side." Barry looked back at Joe.

"Detective," Dr. Wells started, "we all want what's best for Barry." Joe scoffed.

"If you want what's best for Barry, you'd talk him out of this instead of encouraging him to go out there and risk his life as well as Emely's." Barry stepped closer to his foster dad.

"You saw a man control the weather. What are the police gunna do against someone like that? Since the accelerator explosion, we suspect there may be more like him." Joe crossed his arms.

"And you're gunna do what exactly? Catch them? Are you insane? You think because you can run real fast that you're invincible? You're not. You're just a kid. My kid." Emely walked closer to Barry.

"No," She commenced, "you're wrong. You're not his kid. Iris is your kid. Barry's actual father is sitting in Iron Heights for something that he didn't do. He's wrongfully convicted. You admitted that you were wrong about him and now you're wrong about this. Barry may not be able to help him, but if he can save someone from a burning building, or stop some armed thieves, then he's gunna do it. And I'll be there with him. We'll all be there with him to help. You can't stop us, so don't even try." Barry pulled Emely away from Joe and sat her in a chair, so she could calm down.

"You think you're so smart," Joe said after awhile, "all of you. But you don't know what you don't know, and I hope that you are clever enough to figure it out before someone gets killed."

The five people in the facility watched as the detective walked out of the building, his words still playing in their minds.
