The next morning, Barry and Emely were in a hospital. Barry was sleeping soundly in a chair next to Joe's bed, while Emely was wide awake.

"How's it going with the whole Iris thing?" Joe whispered.

"I don't know. I feel bad for treating Barry the way I do sometimes. I treat him and Iris so coldly and I feel guilty." Joe nodded.

"Why is Barry so oblivious? And persistent?" Emely shrugged.

"That's how he is, unfortunately." Joe looked over at the sleeping boy.

"It's been awhile since I've watched him sleep." Barry stirred until he woke up and notcied Joe was awake.

"Rescuing you is exhausting." Joe smiled

"I miss being able to ground you." Emely chuckled and Barry got up and went to Joe's side.

"Sorry I went and grew up." Barry grabbed Joe's hand.

"I could've gotten my dad out of Iron Heights." Joe nodded.

"I know." Barry sighed

"You were right, though. That's not the way." There was knock and Iris entered.

Emely sighed and she got up and walked to the side.

"Daddy." Iris walked over to her father.

"Oh, baby. I'm fine, don't worry." Emely walked outside and Barry followed her.

"Emely," He said once he closed the door, "Can we talk about us?"

"There is no us, Barry. There will never be an us." Barry sighed

"Nevermind then. Let's go visit my dad." Barry sped Emely over to Iron Heights.

"Joe's gunna be ok." Barry first told his father when they got there.

"You know, lately, I've been thinking about mom, and I miss her." Barry sighed.

"Did I ever tell you about the first time you learned to walk?" Barry laughed softly.

"Yeah, a couple of times." Barry pulled Emely into his lap.

"Everyone was walking before Barry, Emely. All those little babies running around the neighborhood, but not Barry. But his mom never worried about it. She said, 'He'll walk when he has some place to go.' And sure enough, the first time he took a few steps, he moved, he didn't just walk, he-"

"He ran." Henry smiled sadly.

"You ran into your mother's arms, Barry. You had someplace to go." Barry hid his face in Emely's shoulder.

Emely ran her hand up and down on Barry's back. Barry lifted his head and Emely's heart broke just by looking at Barry's face. Barry smiled at his father before saying goodbye. They both went home and changed into their pjamas. Emely looked at Barry, who seemed a bit sad.

"Barry." He sat on the edge of the bed, with his head on his hands.

"Hey, look at me." Barry shook his head.

Emely stuck her head in between Barry's arms and pushed his hands away.

Barry's arms uncovered his face and Emely saw that he was crying.

"Barry, tell me what's wrong." He shook his head.

Barry rested his forehead against hers, tears still streaming. Emely cupped Barry's cheeks and wiped his tears away.

"I miss her. I miss my mom so much. It hurts, Emely. It so much that I just-" Barry climbed on the bed and grabbed a pillow.

Barry squeezed the pillow and his face was turning red. Emely climbed next to Barry and replaced the pillow with herself.
