"Dr. Wells and Caitlin had nothing to do with this," Cisco paused, "I did."
"You did? Why?" Emely then understood why Cisco built it.
"Opposites," Everyone looked at her, "Speed and cold are opposites. The faster you go, the hotter it is. When things freeze, they're slower on the atomic level. When there's no movement, it's called-"
"Absolute Zero." Cisco and Emely said in unison.
"She's exactly right. I designed compact cryo-engine to acheive absolute zero. I built it to stop you. I didn't know who you were then, Barry. I mean, what if you turned out to be some psycho, like Martin or Nimbus?"
"But I didn't, did I?" Emely over to Barry and grabbed his hand.
"We built the entire structure we're standing in to do good, and it blew up. You can understand why Cisco would wanna be prepared for the worst."
"I can understand that, but what I can't understand is why you didn't tell me what you did. After all we've been through, I thought you trusted me. I thought we were friends." Emely saw Caitlin and Cisco's faces fall.
"We are, Barry."
"If you told me, then I could've been prepared." Emely stood in front of Barry and placed her hands on his (very hard) chest.
"Barry, calm down. Cisco didn't know that this would happen. It's not his fault. He didn't want this to happen. He feels guilty and you yelling at him, being angry at him, is making him feel worse. I get that he should've said something from the start, but what can we do now? It's too late for that now. We already know and the best thing that we can do is move past it. Friends make mistakes, Barry. We just need to forgive them and learn from it." Barry sighed.
"But someone died tonight, Emely." Emely pursed her lips.
"Yes, I know, but he's one person out of billions in the world." Emely cupped his cheeks. "There will be other cases to solve, more innocent people to save. You can only do so much as the Flash, Barry, that I don't expect you to save everyone. There'll be some minor setbacks, but for the most part, you're a damn good hero. An amazing one at that. You can't let something like this hold you back. Promise me that next time you get angry, you won't yell. Promise me." Barry looked away before staring back into her eyes.
"I promise." He whispered.
Emely smiled softly at Barry and hugged him. Emely watched as he walked over to the treadmill and was focused on running.
"Barry." He didn't stop and Emely rolled her eyes.
"Bartholomew." Barry stopped and faced Emely.
"What?" Emely sighed
"What's wrong, Barr?" He sighed.
"I can't. Everytime I close my eyes, I see that man's face. I watched him die I have to go faster." Barry was about to run again, but Emely held him close.
"Barr, it's not your fault, and it's not Cisco's either." He sighed
"I get it. He didn't trust me." Emely pursed her lips.
"You and I both know that everyone here trusts you. They trusted you enough to hope that you wouldn't get mad. Yet you did." Barry sat on the treadmill
"Em, I just, I feel so bad." Emely kneeled in front of him.
"I know. I know you wanted to save him. I know that you want to save everyone, but some people aren't going to. And that's okay. You have limits just like normal people. You get tired, hungry, and everything else. I'm not expecting you to save everyone. You're the Flash, Barry. Not every city has a Flash." Barry's lips started to form into a smile
"You wanna smile. I know you do." Emely placed her hands on Barry's sides and tickled him.
He laughed and Emely smiled.
"There's that smile." Barry smiled at Emely before pecking her lips.
"You're a good friend." Barry left and Emely sighed
"And that's all I'll ever be to you." Emely watched as Barry left and Felicity entered.
"I couldn't help but watch that. You really like him, don't you?" Emely nodded.
"He just doesn't like me back." Felicity gave her a look.
"What? He doesn't." Felicity sighed
"He does, Emely. He really likes you. He just hasn't realized it yet." Emely shook her head.
"I heard him admit to himself in the bathroom one night that he loves Iris. I'm a friend. I'm just a good friend. That's it." Felicity looked at the shorter girl and looked back at Barry.
Emely walked away, leaving Felicity alone.
"Barry, please realize your feelings soon." Felicity walked back to the others.
"I figured out a way to out a way to track Captain Cold." Cisco came in with a tablet.
"You've got to stop naming these guys."
"Barry, listen to him." He sighed and turned around.
"How?"
"The cold gun is powered by an engine control unit. A micro computer that regulates air to fuel ratio so the sub-cooled fluid in the chambers don't overflow and-"
"Explode." Cisco nodded at Emely
"Right. This ECU was receiving updates wirelessly from my tablet. If I boost the signal using Central City's network and send a false update, we'll get a ping back and then-"
"We can locate Snart." Cisco nodded again
"How long will that take?"
"Uh, first I hack into the city's network, so 30 minutes maybe?" Felicity shook her head.
"I can do it in less than one. When it comes to hacking, I'm the fastest woman alive." Emely smiled.
"Yes! Girl power!" Emely high fived Felcity.
Felicity started typing.
"Alright, I'm in." Emely smiled.
"Are you kidding?" Felicity shook her head.
"All right, I'm sending the updates. We're connected."
"Network is triangulating the location." Emely stood by Felicity
"We got him. He's heading West on Nelson."
"If he's leaving, Mr. Snart may have gotten what he came for." Barry sped away and brought Emely's uniform so she could change into it.
"When we put our minds to it, dude, nothing can stop us." Barry pushed off his earpiece.
"Oh, you turned off your earpiece. How are we going to talk to each other?"
"I don't feel like talking right now." Emely gave Barry a look and he sighed.
He shook his head and sped them to where Snart was.
