In A Matter Of Seconds [Under Editing]

Chapter 37

As they kissed, Cisco took his phone and captured a picture of the couple.

"Yes! Got it." Emely turned to Cisco.

He showed them the picture and Emely looked up at Barry who was smiling down at her. Caitin and Emely left, after Barry wouldn't stop kissing Emely, and they made their way to the stores. 

"This is hard." Emely nodded.

"It really is." 

Emely and Caitlin decided on a shirt, seeing as Dr. Wells was a hard person to get a gift for.

"I was going to get him Stephen Hawking's new autobiography, but I know how he feels about about Hawking." They both headed to Caitlin's  car and Emely saw a reflection in the mirror. 

"Emely?" Emely walked in front to find the man as Cailtin followed her.

They found the man in a dead end when his hands and hair started to flame up.

"Oh my God." He turned to face them.

Caitlin grabbed Emely's arm and led her away from him. 

Emely went home to her Aunt, seeing as Emely hasn't spent any time with her.

"Emely, dear, is that you?" Emely smiled.

"Yeah, it's me. Barry's at S.T.A.R Labs, if you wanna meet him." Alice smiled. 

"I've been dying to meet him." The two women headed to S.T.A.R Labs thanks to Paul 

"Paul, this is my Aunt Alice. Aunt Alice, this is Paul." Alice smiled.

"Nice to meet you Paul." 

"Likewise, Alice." Emely paid Paul when they got there and headed inside. 

"Hey guys." Alice looked at the four men in the room. 

She tried to guess which one was Barry. Two of them looked old, one of them looked like he was 12 and one looked like he was Emely's age, which was Barry.

"Are you Bartholomew, the young man who took my niece's heart?" Barry looked wide eyed at Emely. 

"Uh, yes? I'm Barry, Barry Allen. I don't know what Emely has told you about me. I hope it was good stuff. I'm not going to hurt her. I love her and she loves me and-" Alice stopped him.

"You're just like Emely. You both tend to ramble when you're nervous and you forget to breathe. It's quite cute, really. She has told me only good things about you. I know you love her because I can see it in your eyes. I see the way your face lights up even at just the mention of her name. I know this, because Emely is the same. She loves you just as much as you. Now, if you hurt her, which I'm hoping you won't, but if you do, fix it. Because she has been through so much, and I know that you'll take care of her." Barry nodded.

"Thank you, Aunt Alice, for embarrassing me." Emely walked over to her Aunt and Barry.

"And you're right. He is handsome." Emely widened her eyes.

"I did not say that. Oh my God." Emely covered her eyes as Barry pulled her closer to him. 

"I find it cute that you talk about me." Emely whined which made Barry laugh.

"So we don't get a proper introduction?" Emely looked at Cisco.

"Right. Aunt Alice, this is Dr. Harrison Wells, Dr. Cailtin Snow, Cisco Ramon, Detective Joe West, and you already met Barry Allen." Alice nodded.

"Alright. I'm Alice Fisher." Barry was confused.

"I thought Emely's last name was Hart." Emely nodded.

"From my dad's side. My mom was Melissa Fisher until she married my dad." Alice nodded.

"It's true. I suppose I should tell you the story." Emely nodded.

They went to Jitters to talk one on one.

"You're parents were scientists before they moved to New York to have you. Then they had an emergency here in Central City, so they left you with me. They said they would be gone for a month, but it took longer than that. They never came back, and by that time, you were doing so well." 

"So they just stayed here?" Her aunt nodded.

"Are they still alive?" Her aunt shrugged. 

"I don't know. I suppose so." Emely was quiet.

"You said that they were metas." Her aunt nodded again.

"They are. They were last seen in New York recently and destroyed a home. Your childhood home." Emely didn't reply.

"Don't let this news kill your Christmas spirt, dear." Emely nodded. 

"So, tell me everything. Starting with when you got here." Emely smiled.

She went into great detail about her new life and so much time has gone by since she moved here.

"It seems as if you've been quite busy." Emely nodded.

"Yeah. It's been a crazy rollercoaster." 

"If you could change it, would you?" Emely shook her head.

"No. These people, these wonderful people, have become my family. I haven't felt this much love after they left me with you. I have a wonderful boyfriend who loves me. I wouldn't want to change that."

Later that night, Emely decided to pay Barry a visit.

He was zoned out, remembering every detail of that night. 

"Baby?" 

Barry zoned back in by his girlfriend's voice.

Emely glanced at the board and knew what Barry was thinking of.

"Babe." Emely let Barry rest his head on her stomach as Emely ran a hand through hish hair. 

Barry was almost breaking down when Emely saw something from outside. She squinted her eyes a little to see a man in yellow.

"Barry." She pointed at the man. 

He had glowing red eyes and his body was vibrating. In one second, Barry had Emely on his back and ws chasing after the man in yellow. They ended up on a football field and Emely watched as they both fought each other. She winced as Barry kept getting hurt. 

In a blink, the man in yellow was gone. 

"Barry!" She ran after Barry, who was panting as he laid on the floor.

"Barry, are you okay?" He groaned in pain.

"I'm okay." Emely pursed her lips. 

They headed to S.T.A.R Labs, where Barry explained the situation to Joe and Dr. Wells. Emely then stayed behind as Barry went to talk to Dr. McGee along with Joe. Hours later, they had a trap set for the man in yellow. All that was left was him. 

Barry had to leave because of how close he was to the man in yellow, but Emely was allowed to stay. Barry went to visit his father and then after that, he went to visit Iris. 

"I love you, Iris."

"Aw, I love you too, Barry." He looked at her.

"When we were kids, I loved you even before I knew what love meant." Iris was confused. 

"Then my mom died and I had to live with the girl I had a crush on." 

"Barry, stop. You're with Emely. You can't just tell me things like that. I know you love Emely and you know that I love Eddie." Barry shook his head.

"I love you, but not like I used to. Before Emely came, I liked you. I loved even before I knew how I felt about Emely. I love you, but as a brother."

Iris smiled with tears in her eyes.

"I love you too, Barry."
