In A Matter Of Seconds [Under Editing]

Chapter 44

"I know." Emely wrapped her arms around Barry's small torso and rested her head on his chest. 

They were so focused on each other, that they didn't realize that Stein had walked out. Dr. Wells and Cisco quickly hurried to create something that might save them both, but they had little time to make it. 

When it was done, Caitlin and Barry were the ones to go. Emely placed a kiss on Barry's lips before he headed out. They left Cisco, Emely and Dr. Wells with the anticipation if it would work. There was a beeping on the computer and Cisco brought Emely into the hallway and began to walk as he talked to Joe on the phone. 

"I'm not proud of it, but I ran the samples. One wasn't identified and the other had a match." Joe was at CCPD and was walking down some stairs.

"Cisco," He started, "you're hesitating. Was it Wells?" 

"No, it's not Dr. Wells." Emely started to think of who it could be if not Dr. Wells.

"It's Barry's." Emely looked at Cisco

"Uh, what? Barry was a kid. How could he have been there that night?" Cisco held the phone between him and Emely.

"No, no, no. You both don't understand. The sample had high levels of P-16, a protein that builds up as we get older. And these levels were way too high for an 11-year-old." Emely looked at Cisco as he continued.

"This sample was from Barry as an adult."

Emely sat outside, waiting for Barry to return. 

Who knew, that when Emely had arrived here, her life would be changed completely? Meta-humans, a scarlet speedster, a supposedly dead her, her parents, her grandfather. 

Emely was surprised at how she was handling it. Normally, people who break down becaause of too much they have going on, but not her.

Barry had returned to S.T.A.R Labs, the separation a success. Barry sat next to Emely outside, as Caitlin, Ronnie and Professor Stein went inside. 

"You okay?" Emely nodded.

"Surprisingly, I am. I'm not breaking down that much like most people would. I guess I just already know that my life is gunna change every waking hour, no matter how much I don't want it too." 

"You're a fighter, that's why. You're my little fighter." Emely rested her head on his shoulder. 

"You're not a normal girl, Emely. You have your own, unique way and that's what I love about you." 

"Thank you." Barry placed a kiss on her head. 

"There's some people you meet back inside." Emely followed Barry inside 

"Ronnie, Professor Stein, this is Emely." Stein smiled at her.

"It's nice to finally meet you in person." She smiled at the older man.

"Same goes to you, Professor." Emely turned to Ronnie.

"Emely Hart." 

"Ronnie Raymond." 

"I've heard about you." Ronnie turned to Caitlin.

"The good things, I hope." Emely smiled

"Only the best." 

Caitlin checked Ronnie's vitals and Emely smiled at their affection. 

"Hey." She saw Barry walking up next to her.

"They're so cute. I'm happy she has him again." Barry smiled

"But not as cute as us." Emely rolled her eyes.

"Okay." Barry pulled her close and tickled her.

"Barry!" Everyone looked at the recent couple's affection. 

"They're together?" Ronnie asked his lover

"Yeah, they got together a month ago. Everyone could see how much they liked each other. It was quite interesting to watch." Ronnie smiled

"They love each other don't they?" Caitlin nodded

"They do." Ronnie looked at her

"Not as much as I love you." Caitlin smiled and kissed him.

Minutes later, Barry and Emely were standing in Stein's house. 

"Wait. What should I say?" Emely smiled softly.

"I think seeing you would suffice." The door opened and a tearful Clarissa stared at her husband in happiness.

"Clarissa, I'm so sorry I put you through this." Clarissa pulled him close and kissed him for the first time in years.

Barry smiled and glanced down at his love who wiping her eyes.

"Em?"

"I'm not crying. You're crying." Barry chuckled as he pulled her close. 

"Clarissa, this is Barry and his girlfriend Emely." Stein was surprised to find her crying. 

"It's just a happy moment." The older couple smiled at her. 

Later, Joe told Barry to come to his lab. Joe told Emely beforehand that he was gunna tell Barry about the blood stain. Emely was okay with that and went back to S.T.A.R Labs to find Cisco and Lily kissing.

"AHHHH! MIS OJOS!!! MIS POBRES, INOCENTES OJOS!!" They pulled apart and began to blush.

"Hey, it's not like we don't think the same." Emely gave them a look. 

"But everyone knows we're together. You guys aren't." They looked at each other, then back at Emely.

"Right?" Lily looked away and so did Cisco.

"How long?" 

"A couple of weeks ago." Emely nodded and then went to hug them both.

"I'm happy for you both." She pulled Lily close

"I'll be waiting for that explanation." Lily nodded quickly and Emely laughed as she walked away. 

Emely decided to check how Barry was doing, so she called Paul and asked him to take her to Barry's childhood home. 

Paul and Emely talked the whole way there, not realizing how quickly time went by. When she set foot inside, she heard that Joe was just beginning to explain the blood sample.

"It's yours." Emely closed the door and saw Barry's facial expression. 

"No, it's not. That's impossible. I wasn't even downstairs yet." Emely shook her head. 

"Not young you. Cisco found P-16 in the blood that had levels that were higher than an 11-year-olds." 

"What Emely's trying to say, is that it's not that you. It's this you." Joe pointed at Barry.

Barry looked at Emely in confusion.

"But that means-" 

"The second speedster trying to stop the man in yellow-" 

"Is the Flash." Barry stared at the 3D model

"That's me."
