In A Matter Of Seconds [Under Editing]

Chapter 48

"Emely, I-" Barry looked at Dr. Wells, who gave him a look

"You what Barry?" Barry sighed

"Nothing." Emely shook her head

"Who are you? Because I know that my boyfriend shares everything with me." Emely walked out and Caitlin followed.

"Emely, wait up." Emely stopped 

"Are you gunna lie to me too?" 

"Actually, I have no idea what's going on with Barry. Believe me." 

"I don't know what to believe right now."

Cisco had invited Caitlin and Emely to his brother's birthday party, seeing as he and his brother didn't really get along. 

Emely looked around the room when she entered, feeling a sense of heartache knowing that she wasn't able to this with her own family.

"Hey. Glad you could make it." A man, Cisco's brother Dante, approached the three of them.

"Of course." He turned to Caitlin and Emely.

"Hi, I'm Dante." 

"These are my friends Caitlin and Emely." 

"Hi, Caitlin." Dante shook her hand.

"Happy birthday, Dante." 

"Thank you." The three of them looked at Emely who was in her little world. 

For the first time since she's moved to Central City, she felt homesick. She missed Alexis and Rachel, she missed the city, she missed her Aunt Alice. But most importantly, she missed her parents. She missed the birthday parties they would throw for her, but that was soon ripped from her life when they left.

"Emely." Emely zoned back in to find Caitlin, Cisco and Dante looking at her.

"Are you okay?" Emely nodded.

"Here. I got you this." Cisco handed Dante the present.

"I think you'll like it. It's-"

"Thanks, man." Emely could tell that Dante didn't appreciate Cisco as much as he should.

"Yeah."

"Excuse me." 

Later on, everyone gathered around to listen as Dante played the piano. Everyone clapped after he was finished

"Here is one who was touched by God." Emely looked at the floor as Dante approached them

"I was a little rusty. I haven't played in a while."

"Well, if that's what you sounded like rusty, I can't imagine what you sound like when you've practiced." Dante smiled

"For you, I'd practice morning, noon, and night." Cisco chuckled

"That means you'd actually have to get up in the morning." Dante stopped smiling.

"So Mom tells me you're still working at S.T.A.R Labs." Dante looked at Cisco

"Yeah, why?"

"No reason man. Guess it was just hard to find another job." 

"I wasn't looking. I like working at S.T.A.R Labs."

"And we couldn't do what we do without Cisco." 

"He's loyal. Just like a dog." Cisco and Caitlin were silent.

Dante looked at Emely who was looking at the floor.

"Are you finding the floor interesting?" Emely looked at Dante
