Chapter 52

"Okay, Cisco. Now what?"

"Ray, get to the ocean. If the bots follow you into the ocean, their electronics will fry."

"Got it." Ray thought for a second, "Wait, but so will my suit."

But nonetheless, Ray led the bots to the ocean. Like Cisco said, Ray submerged himself into the ocean, leading the bees as well. Ray came back up, but his suit wasn't okay.

"Cisco, I'm losing propulsion control." Cisco gazed up at the sky in hopes of finding Ray

"Can you see the van?" Ray glanced down.

"Yeah."

"We'll catch you." 

"You will?"

"We will?" Caitlin glanced at her colleague.

"We will."

"Alright." Cisco climbed into the back part of the van and opened the back doors

"Keep it steady!" He yelled to the young doctor.

Ray successfully flew in and landed safely.

"Whew." Cisco grinned

"The Atom lives." Ray slapped his metal covered hand with Cisco's, making Cisco groan in pain.

"Let's work on some softer gloves next time, okay?" 

"Sorry." 

As those bees were defeated, Brie and Felicity were still fighting over control of the other bees.

"Oh, you wanna bring it? It's been brought." 

The computer Felicity was using made a spark which made her scream.

"Rude." 

"Felicity, now would be a good time to do something." Felicity concentrated

"Stay away from Barry Allen." The bees were coming closer in contact with Barry

"Felicity!"

"Got it." Barry watched as the bees dropped to the ground.

"Boom. Drop the mike. It's metaphorical, of course, because I don't have a real mike." Emely smiled. 

Brie was caught and Dr. McGee and Lily were safe. 

The next day, Eddie went to Emely for advice at CCPD. 

"I know we're not really close, but I really need to talk to someone." 

"Sure, what's up?" Eddie looked around. 

"Can we talk somewhere else?" Emely nodded 

"Sure." 

They ended up going to Jitters and began to walk around the city.

"I just can't keep lying to Iris. It's tearing us apart." Emely nodded

"I know what lying and keep someone in the dark can do to close people. Believe me." 

"Why? Did something happen between you and a guy?"

"Not so much of a guy. It was my parents." Eddie raised his eyebrows in shock

"Really?" Emely nodded.

"I know what it's like to be hidden from the truth. My parents left me when I was 7. They came to Central City and were scientists. Apparently, they had a company here which had a problem, hence why they left. They said that it would take a month to fix, but it hasn't been solved in years. They became meta-humans because of the particle accelerator and recently wanted to be apart of my life again, but I told them to leave instead of holding them close." 

"So you think I should tell Iris?" 

"No. You're keeping this from her because you want to keep her safe. My parents and my aunt chose not to tell me anything. Maybe because I was too young, but they just didn't tell me." Eddie nodded

"I guess it just depends, right?" Emely nodded

"Right." They both walked in silence back to CCPD. 

"Thank you, Emely. That felt nice. We should do it again sometime." Emely smiled

"Definitely. And if you ever need someone, I'm right here." Eddie smiled and pulled Emely into a hug. 

Emely wrapped her arms around Eddie's torso and rested her chim on his shoulder. The two detectives were so caught up in the hug, they didn't notice Iris watching them. 

"Iris." Barry followed his foster sister's gaze to find Emely smiling at Eddie

"I'll text you later." The shorter girl turned away to find her boyfriend and best friend.

"Hey Iris. Hey Bebz." She pecked Barry's lips before walking away. 

"You said he wasn't cheating on me." Iris turned to Barry. 

"Iris-"

"And the fact that it's with your girlfriend." Iris scoffed.

"Iris, that's-" Not hearing what he had to say, Iris walked off. 

Later that night, Barry, Joe and Emely waited for Caitlin and Cisco in Barry's lab.

"Iris thinks Eddie's cheating on her." Joe and Emely looked Barry

"Really? Why does she think that?" Barry gazed down at his love.

"Because of you." Emely furrowed her eyebrows

"Why me?" 

"We both saw you and Eddie." Emely shook her head

"Eddie needed to talk to me about him and Iris. We didn't do anything." Barry nodded

"I believe you." Emely smiled

"You know I would never try to hurt you." Barry nodded

"I know." 

"All right, all right. Who's ready for some karaoke?" Barry, Joe and Emely looked at Cisco and Caitlin with serious faces. 

"We are not going to karaoke, are we?" Emely shook her head.

"No." Barry pointed at the board.

"This is all we know about my mother's murder and the Reverse-Flash. I've been gathering information on him for a long time. And this is everything we know about Dr. Wells." Barry pulled down a screen full of photos and newspaper clippings. 

"I don't understand. What do Dr. Wells and the Reverse-Flash have to do with each other?" Barry glanced at Joe and then at his girlfriend. 

"Dr. Wells is the Reverse-Flash." Caitlin shook her head.

"That's impossible. He's paralyzed." 

"Is he though?" 

Emely glanced at Cisco who was quiet.

"Cisco?" 

"I've been having these dreams. Mostly at night, but sometimes during the day. They don't feel like a dream. They feel real." 

"What happens in the dream." Cisco looked at Emely. 

"Dr. Well is the Reverse-Flash." Cisco looked at Barry

"And he kills me."
