Is It Okay if I Call You Mine? (formerly Complicated)

Blake’s POV

I went to the bathroom to shower.  I thought we’re going to settle this between us.  I thought she felt the same about me, I guess, I was wrong. Maybe I am just a rebound guy for him.  Of course, he will not forget Jethro easily.  It hurts to think that while she was kissing me, she was thinking of Jethro, truth sometimes really hurts.

I guess I just have to focus more on Aubrey.  We’ve been together for a long time.  Maybe I just missed her that’s why I got confused with my feelings for Cassie.  I got dressed and went out of the bathroom.  I walked to the bed and saw Cassie sleeping peacefully.  She’s really beautiful.  I wish I can taste her lips again. I shook my head.  Having these thoughts about Cassie will not help me focus on Aubrey.  I turned off the lights, lay in bed, closed my eyes and let myself drift into sleep.

I woke up with the sunlight touching my face.  When I opened my eyes, I saw Cassie snuggled up beside me. Her head is resting on my left arm.  My other arm is hugging her.  I couldn’t help but smile.  She really moves a lot when she sleeps.  The pillows she put between us last night were resting on our feet.  I looked at her once again and saw how beautiful she is even when sleeping.  I gently touched her face.  She smiled and hugged me closer.  I thought she’s awake but when I heard her deep breaths, I know she’s still asleep. 

Knowing Cass, she’ll feel terribly embarrassed if she wakes up like this so I decided to get out of the bed.  Carefully, I replaced my arm with a pillow, placed another pillow between us, and rest her arms on it before I slid down on the floor.

I showered, then decided to call Aubrey.  I went out of our room’s veranda and closed the door so I wouldn’t disturb Cassie’s sleep.  After a few rings, she answered.

 “Hey.” I greeted.

 “Morning babe.  How are you?” she asked.

 “I’m fine, and you?”

 “Great.  Although I missed you…a lot.”

 “Me too babe.  I missed you.”

 “Good thing we will not miss each other for too long.” Aubrey said.

 “What do you mean?”

“I’m on my way to Tagaytay.  Cassie told me last night that she wanted to cut her vacation short.  I know Cassie paid the hotel for a week so I thought why not stay there for a while. We’ll just pay Cassie.  Don’t you want to be with me babe? only you and me, in a hotel room?”  she said seductively.

Maybe there is really something wrong with me but what she said and how she said it does not have any effect on me.  I thought of Cassie.  I was worried about her.  Why didn’t she tell me she wanted to go home?

 “Blake, you still there?” I heard Aubrey on the other line.

 “Yeah, sorry I got distracted with the fog.

 “Fog? You’re so weird babe.”

 “How are you going here?  Do you bring your car?”

 “Nope.  I asked Jethro for a ride.  That way Cassie will have a ride home.”

 “Jethro?  I doubt if Cassie wants to see him right now.”

 “Why? What happened?”

 “Why don’t you ask him yourself, and then kill him after?”

 “You bet.  I’ll see you in few.”

 “Take care babe.  See you.”
