Is It Okay if I Call You Mine? (formerly Complicated)

Cassie's POV

Flashback

"Bianca...." I said, following the hospital staff carrying the bed where Bianca's frail body was lying.

"Do you know her?" the hospital staff asked me.

"Yes, she's my bestfriend. What happened to her? Is she involved in an accident?" I asked the hospital staff feeling confused.

"Excuse me miss?..." a police officer interrupted our conversation.

"Sanvictores. I'm Cassandra Sanvictores."

"I'm PO4 Revilla. I'm the one assigned to handle the case of your friend. What's her name by the way?"

"Her name's Bianca De Castro. Case? What case?"

"I'll explain later but for now, can you tell me where I can find her family so that I can notify them of Bianca's condition."

"I don't know where she lives and her family's whereabouts. Bianca didn't like to talk about her family much. You can go to our school though. Maybe they can give you information from her school records. We're both from St. Mary's Academy."

"We'll do that. Thank you, Cassandra."

"Can you tell me now, what happened to my friend?"

The policeman sighed, and said, "We don't know what happened to her yet. What we do know is that she was found battered in a resthouse near the woods."

"What?!" I couldn't believe it... I was supposed to be there that night.

"Where are your parents? I want to talk to them."

"Why?" I asked, afraid that I might be in trouble.

Sensing my fear, PO4 Revilla said, "Don't worry, I just want to ask you some questions, but since you're a minor, you need to have either one of your parents with you."

We went to my grandmother's hospital room. My parents went out to talk to PO4 Revilla. Being the family friend of the hospital's owner, the hospital staff let us use the hospital's conference room.

"What is this all about?" my father asked.

"We found your daughter's best friend's body in a resthouse in the woods full of bruises and blood. We'd like to ask your daughter if she knows something about it."

"Who? Bianca? How is she?" my father seems to be so worried of Bianca. It means he cares for my best friend. All this time, I thought he hated her because he asked me many times to stay away from her.

"Cassie..." I was interrupted with my thoughts by PO4 Revilla.

"Yes?!"

"Do you know what Bianca is doing in the resthouse?"

I swallowed hard, I know I'll get into trouble with my parents because of  this, but for Bianca, I'll do anything just for this case to be solved. "We were supposed to meet Harvey there."

"Who is Harvey, Cassandra?" PO4 asked.

"He is my boyfriend." I looked at my parents, and they both looked surprised.

"Why do you need to meet Harvey in the woods, all by yourself?" PO4 asked again.

"Because...." I was so nervous. I can't lie... This is for Bianca... I told myself once again.

"Because I was about to give my virginity to Harvey last night."

I heard my mother gasp. "I'm sorry, mom, dad..."

"Why didn't you come?" PO4 prodded.

"I received a call that granny is in the hospital. I forgot to call Bianca and Harvey to cancel. It was this morning when I decided to return their calls, but I couldn't reach them both."
