Raven's POV:
I arrive at the girls home, and before I can even get to the door, a woman, with a big smile and kind eyes, is opening the door and tells me to come inside. I assume that this was Abby.
The house is different than I expected. It's not that big. It's actually pretty clean. And, I don't see any other girls.
"It's really great to have you here, Raven. I know it will take you some time to get used to things, but the girls here are very nice. Just make yourself at home, " Abby told me. She then showed me to my room and said that I should probably unpack now because dinner would be ready soon.
I slowly began unpacking. I was mostly wishing that I was at my real home right now. My thoughts were suddenly interrupted by someone knocking on my door. I opened it to a small girl looking up at me shyly. She couldn't have been any older than seven.
"Dinner is ready now. Come with me I'll show you where to sit," with that, the little girl took my hand and started leading me down the stairs.
As we gathered around the table, everyone was looking at me. I could cut the tension with a knife. There were only three others besides me. They all seemed to be around my age. Besides the girl who brought my downstairs.
"Everyone, this is Raven. Obviously she's new here, so just make her feel at home. Let's introduce ourselves, shall we," Abby then began pointing to people, who would then say their name and age.
Lexa was the oldest, she is seventeen. Then Clark, she would be seventeen in a few months. Then, Nyla, only six years old.
The rest of dinner, was silent. I have definitely never felt so out of place.
